Best Wiffle/Foam Practice Balls

Hello, I am new here so I will introduce myself shortly. I am 22 years old and I am from Montevideo, Uruguay. I got into golf when I was 6 years old and now I am starting to build my equipment.

As driving ranges and golf courses are expensive here, I thought of buying some of these restricted flight practice balls to take to the park. Which ones would you recommend to me? Please suggest some good ones!

Welcome to TST. These will go farther than whiffle balls but offer a better feel for sure. Have you considered getting a net? You could hit real balls into that. Thanks for joining and hope to see you around! Cheers.

Welcome to TST.   The practice golf balls that @Vinsk suggested seem to be a good choice.   His suggestion to purchase a net will be very beneficial for practice in your yard or a park.

I have tried many brands of waffle balls and most split at the seam after little use. Then I found the ones made by the real Wiffle Ball company and they are the best. I have never had one split, even after years of use. They also perform better. They cost a little more but are worth it.

Maybe I'll buy some of the Callaway Foams and some of the classic Wiffle balls.

Some people argue that AlmostGolfBall and Birdieballs are the best ones, but I find them quite expensive. What do you believe about that ones?

About buying a net, I would like to, as well as a hitting mat, since I will practice in the park (I live in a flat and Driving Ranges are far from my home). Besides that, courses are expensive here in Uruguay.

I really like the birdie balls. I don't have any of the accessories for them. I just have a chunk of padded carpet that I'll drop down in the driveway and whack the birdie balls into the back yard or across the street. They only fly like 60 yards (6 iron) tops with an iron. And they do pretty well mimic golf balls flight. Plus they sound cool. Obviously, they aren't the real thing, but I find you can groove a good iron swing using them. I've actually never tried them with a driver or fairway wood.

That's why I thought of buying them. I reckon you can find a cheap hitting mat instead of buying the birdieball mat (which I do not like). As to hit the driver they have a rubber tee I think! But they always say Birdieballs mimic golf ball behaviour. Do you know in which store can I buy them cheaply?

Sorry, I'm not sure. I got mine directly from Birdieball. I've probably had mine about 10 years, maybe?

I always by the striped foam balls. They go a litttle further than the airflow/wiffle balls, more durable, safe for indoor use and also, imo, give more feedback than wiffles.

Callaway do Jelly golf balls but they are similar to the 30% distance balls.

Almost Golf balls are another option that are decent if you can get hold of them.

Depends where you want to practice. Outdoors with enough room then the Birdie/Almost/30% distance balls are ok.

Indoors or with limited space then best bet would be foam or wiffle.

I don't know anything about the Birdieballs but I do have the AlmostGolfBall. Good feel and ball flight, much better than a whiffle ball BUT, you need a lot of room in your backyard to hit anything stronger than an 8 or 9-iron. A well struck 6-iron will go about 80 yards.

There's an indoor ball called "the floppy"; it seems to work pretty well. Feels more substantial than either form or wiffle.
