I'm not looking for a putter, but I have tried out those Clevelands while stopping by the golf store, and I agree with your assessment that they are solid. I've always liked Cleveland's products.

How do you orient your ball when you tee it up?
irishmike27 replied to onthehunt526's topic in Golf Talk
Same here. No preference on the tee, but I prefer no markings visible while putting. -
Golf Telecasts - Sensational or Stupid?
irishmike27 commented on Big Lex's blog entry in Loose Impediments
Great post, and spot on with the European Tour coverage. Less (talking) is more. I do enjoy the occasional shot tracer though.- 10 comments

How much does driver technology really matter?
irishmike27 replied to Brian96's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
That's a great club. Used mine for about 10 years, then got bored one winter and ordered the Classic XL for a great price, and it won the battle. Gave the Laucher to a friend who still uses it, so I still have visitation privileges. -
Which ball for me?
irishmike27 replied to Vinchenzo561's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Gotta agree with those that said Snell. Both models are great (bought the trial pack) the GET SUM fits my game better, so I requested 6 dozen for Christmas. Awesome quality and price. -

Time to upgrade but ball but oh man!?
irishmike27 replied to stealthhwk's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I used to play the AD333, and I really liked it. Unfortunately I don't think it's available here in the US any more (either regular or tour), so I only have about a dozen left. Next up is the Snell Get Sum. I bought a mixed trial box of Snells in the fall, preferred the Get Sum, and received 6 dozen for Christmas. -
Slow rounds are annoying, but the only time I've quit (other than the issues listed in OP) is because a ridiculously slow round would cause me to be late to an important meeting or event.

I just love golf, pretty much every aspect of it and I enjoy reading about it.

Did you ever play with steel spikes?
irishmike27 replied to iacas's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I agree, I do miss the sound of steel spikes on concrete/asphalt. That's it though. In fact, most of my shoes are spikeless now. I remember the first time I played a course that required soft spikes. I didn't have any, so I had to play in my Tevas. Shot 2 over for nine holes, and played in those sandals for the next two seasons.- 36 replies

I'm still having an issue picking up where I left off reading when I click on posts. Seems to either take me to the very beginning of the thread, or to the end.- 403 replies

7 iron most of the time, 8 on occasion.

It's tough to accurately assess without having been there. It does however read like he was justified in feeling like you were rushing him. On the short par 4 you referred to, probably would have been best to wait until they cleared the green-especially if you're not in a hurry-ending up 24 yards from the flag while they are putting is pretty close. As far as how he reacted, it certainly could have been worse. Nobody likes being hit into. Too bad it put a damper on your best round, but next time you are in a similar situation-as long as you aren't backing up the course-give the group in front some space.

Indecision with Golf Ball Choice
irishmike27 replied to stealthhwk's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'd have to agree with this. Just bought the trial pack with the GET SUM and MY TOUR BALL ($26.99 shipped). Played nine holes with them both, and they are both great. If you like the GET SUM, 6 dozen is only $75 shipped-$13 per dozen. I haven't decided with one next go to yet, but it will most likely be one of these. -
Do you guys clean your irons & wedges during a round ?
irishmike27 replied to inthehole's topic in Golf Talk
I also learned this early on as a caddy. Best method in my opinion. -
17.9 now, hope to be in the 13-14 range by next year. Finally convinced myself to keep my swing in control after 3 years of trying to achieve distance the wrong way. Hoping to get back to consistently in the 80s, and flirt with breaking it again (sadly the first-and only-time was 20 years ago).

Yeah, that's too steep. At half the price I might consider it, but $100 for a headcover is too much for him (and me). Still very cool. And thanks for sharing. Definitely one of a kind.

PING 2015 Newport Cup Prediction Contest! Win a G30 Driver!
irishmike27 replied to iacas's topic in Golf Talk
I want Turbulators to help me drive it long with the PING G30 Driver! I predict that the RED (West Coast) TEAM will win the 2015 Newport Cup by a score of 31 to 23 . The MVP will be @tristanhilton85 with 11 points won. -
Where did you get the Jobu headcover? That thing is awesome, and I have a buddy who would love one of those.

Two I like: Pistol style: Winn Excel Midsize AVS Regular Round: Golf Pride CP2 midsize Both feel great. I've used the Winn for the past 6 years, and have been toying with the round one off and on this year (can't quite get used to it yet-though much of the discussion about a round grip on a putter makes sense to me).
