To bad Europe is far gone on this event. And what the hack is going on with Louis? He used to have a lazy kinda looking swing likee Ernie Els, his pace is way off on his swing!

Mizuno JPX 921 Tour/SEL versus Taylormade P770 irons
tomvk77 replied to Knockglock's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I guess what Mizuno says is true. Nothing feels like a mizuno. I ordered my set JPX 921 forged irons. For the first time i am not getting a 3 iron but will have an extra wedge. I’m currently playing MP 59. I could have gone with the tours as well but when i got them slightly off center i just got better results. Because the lofts are stronger it was easy to leave out the 3iron. As i carry a hybrid also. For my wedges i went with the jet black sm8’s. 50.08F 56.08 M bend to 55.07 And 60.08 M. i ordered a black M craft VI putter as well. I always wanted to try a shape putter like that. still waiting to get them all. further i carry the titleist 917 D3 driver with the rogue max stiff shaft 917 F2 and 818 H1 -
Hey all, I have been wondering what you all think about the delivery times rising these days. I ordered my new Irons like 6 weeks ago ( Mizuno JPX 921 Forged 4 - pw with KBS Tour stiff shafts no further spec changes grips Golfpride MCC Aline grips) together with a Mizuno M craft VI black putter. also ordered 3 Vokey SM8 black finish wedges 50 deg 08. 56.09 bend to 55.08 and a 60.08. So far no news to be told about the ata. I mean the weather here in the Netherlands finally getting better and I am getting excited to play them.

What Driver Will I Be Purchasing?
tomvk77 replied to Billy Z's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
You should get fitted, only way to go if you want to benefit the latest tech. You just got to make sure the clubs suit your profile. I still use my Titleist 917 woods I tried a fitting but well I don't get much better results, I mean I can go up by 4 yards that's about it. not worth the change I think. -
Which Clubs for a 4-Club Tournament?
tomvk77 replied to RandyBobbitt's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would go for 4i 7i 50deg gw and putter, basically play the par 4 as par 5's and you should be able to still reach the par 5's in 3. with the 2 irons you will have more options for the par 3's. -
Well i am slightly open with my stance. But my swing comes from the inside not ott.

Bounce sure is important. Personally i don't like the GW that comes with the iron set. i prefer a real wedge. As for shafts, yeah i play my wedges with the same shaft as my irons. I like that the feel on full shots is the same. My Irons are Mizuno MP59 with KBS Tour Stiff shafts my wedges are mizuno T7 with same shafts. I have a 52 and 58 wedge i have them with a 8 and 10 degree bounce. I know this is low for a 58 (lw) i like it this way.

Do You Purchase Equipment Locally or Online?
tomvk77 replied to 1badbadger's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I buy them at the local golfshop. I always get fitted for new equipment. As far as grips, balls gloves and that stuff goes i buy online. -
It's not that i'm a hater or something i like to see him do well at Augusta. I try to explain he makes mistakes. for my feeling he's making to much mistakes. And with that Augusta is a different story, you just need to be spot on and if you miss you need to control that mis. And that is something that is just not there yet, but it's only my opinion. With that i think i proved my point after his +1 round yesterday. He's playing well but not well enough to win.

It's just because specially for am players the result is much more consistent with a hybrid than with an iron. Think it's the same for tour pro's. it's just the way it is.You should look more at the off center hits and look at those results between iron and hybrid.

Honnestly there it doesn't matter. So C would be the wise choice. However i prefer my hybrid to match my woods. But i carry a 2 hybrid and a 3 iron. I prefer the shaft to match my woods. I carry a Titleist 917 D3 with a Titleist 917 F2 and my hybrid is Titleist 818 H1. Shafts are Aldila Rogue Max stiff shafts 65 gram, 75 gram and 90 gram. driver is 3/4 inch shorter 3 wood 1/2 inch shorter.

It goes up and down here in the Netherlands. This weekend will be +20 celcius. Last week was below 0. Good i was in Spain last week, played some nice rounds of golf.

I still think the best irons out there are mizuno's. I tried to upgrade on my MP59's but looking my numbers there is just no need to upgrade. If i will upgrade i will end up with mizuno anyway. It's good you will get fitted,

I think it's a bit to early for Tiger. You will need your A game to win at Augusta. I think he is not really there yet. My hopes go out to Ricky Fowler.

Driver with 3-wood shaft experiment
tomvk77 replied to onthehunt526's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My driver shaft is at 44.25. i kind of have the same with a 45" shaft i tend to hit the ball a bit on the heel. With a shorter shaft i hit it more out the middle. I came with these flightscope results. Need to say there was a heavy face wind and it was -6 degrees celcius -
To get fitted or not to get fitted, that is the question
tomvk77 replied to BUB901's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
A good fitting will allways help. I prever a trackman like fitting. because the data is more pure. if you use a indoor golf simulator the data can look better than the real thing. A proper fitting starts with finding the right clubhead and the right shaft, i think it's most important in a fitting. Than offcourse there is lie. If you consider new woods also i think you should look at how many fairways you hit not how long they go. And i learned over the years that most amateur players should benefit a shorter driver shaft for that reason. -
i think there about 5 years now. i carry the Mizuno MP59 irons. still love them and see no reason to change them. i just replaced my woods tho and that is a big change.
-
I carry them. And i like them alot. Specially the wide choice on loft and bounce is a big plus for me.

What bounce and grind for a 52 58 wedge setup?
tomvk77 replied to Roenie's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
It's all about your prefferance. You should look first at what type of shots do you play with your wedges most. If you hit your 58 mostly from bunkers it is more ideal to have a higher bounce. If it's more chip pitch and full shots a lower bounce is more ideal. At my home course i hardly hit greenside bunkers so i choose to carry a 58 with 8 degrees of bounce same as my 51. -
Hi TST, I'm searching for new grips, can't just find what I'm searching for. I currently play the Golfpride Neon grips but I don't like them that much specially in wet or warm conditions. To bad in the Netherlands we get a few rainy days. I'm not a fan of the Multicompound grips. Any ideas?

I should go to the shop where you bought it. and look if there is a big difference. Where I go we can always come back for an after sale fitting proces

I didn't loose it. But it was buried in his own pitchmark and I didn't see it at first but when walking I hit it with my shoe, it did cost me a penalty shot.
