Thought that i had posted. But broke 80, a few months ago. I was a 16 handicap when i did so, but am back to a 18 know. One of those round of my life thought that i had figured it out, just to be back in the high 80's and lots of low-mid 90's since.

I tend to do better when there are distractions talking, trains, airplanes, etc. than when dead quiet. Basically if you are louder than me telling my self not to hit it in the trouble, there is a good chance i'm not going to. Unfortunately the reverse is also true.

95, 41/54 tripled the 9th. Was only 2 over before then. Could never get it back after.

This may have been covered already, I skimmed a few pages, but have not read the whole thread. But once a trophy is given is it done? Or will there be people now searching the entirety of the history of televised golf to identify infractions that may change the results.

Bogey Golfers Only (Index 16-22) / Breaking 90 Topic

So, Last week I card a 99 and yesterday, I beat my personal best with easily 5 strokes, and shot an 83. We play from the whites and as fun as it is to try to go for par 5's etc. and have half wedges in, there is a lot of trouble that i can get into with "good" drives. Even a good 3 wood. I played irons off the tee all day. Even with irons there were two holes that I had wayward tee shots into the woods. One saved bogey the other was a double my only one for the day. -
Um I've mixed up 5 and S. Glance, grab club while looking away, feels weird not paying attention, swing, great shot 75 yards short. Granted I was used to bladed wedges, and it was first time out with a set that had a matching cavity back

My course is offering handicap memebership discounted to $25. If i am establishing handicap for the first time, I don't use ESC correct? Then once one is given i start using ESC? The group that i play with plays with some hurry up rules, such as drop where you think it went in a hazard / OB and give me putts. I would assume that establishing a handicap i need to start playing provisionals off the tee, putting everything out, etc. We have some areas that are not marked GUR but next to the cart paths are obvious gravel, we usually say move your ball off the rocks, if you are behind a tree its on you, but if you are on rocks (gravel) its a free drop (place), basically what is the best way to handle that situation, while playing with others and trying to establish a handicap?

Looking for people to play with in Jacksonville FL

I'm just south of savannah, ga. We go to jacksonville quite a bit to go to the zoo, if we ever stay long enough to get around in I'll let you know. -
Last night I was 7/12 out and only 5/12 in but the sand gnats we're horrible and I'm also the worst putter in the world. Tonight 10/12 out and 10/12 in. Left to right breaks are easier for me with the flag in and harder with it out. The misses with the stick out were just bad putts that I hit quicker and not longer to get the added pace.

If i do this on the green near my house, not a practice green. Should i do flag out and then wait a day and do flag in, to not remember the break?

I could be wrong but i thought the point of the wall drill was to get the hips away from the wall laterally. Creating a spinal tilt and the like. "Toward target" "bumping foward" etc. You look much steadier but still look like your are "turning in a barrel", maybe @iacas could clear up.

Players Irons for High Handicap
sirhacksalot replied to GeorgiaLefty's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Ive been on both sides of this argument. I like the look of blades, even players cavity backs, but when im struggling with them, i really struggle. Just recently as in haven't had a chance to hit them yet, I found a ridiculously good deal on a set of mizuno H4's so im hoping that they may be the best of both worlds, super chunky in the low irons but players in in the shorts. We'll see. -

It does and I misunderstand my swing and results more than I misunderstand the book. Sometimes I hit into hazards because I honestly just didn't think I was reaching them that day and I do. But mostly I feel like I holes with water/trees left or right, I'm just as likely to go in them with a wood or hybrid. Less likely with an iron but that starts taking some ngir's out ot the equation, or brings ob around the greens into play. -

It sucks I hate it. No matter how hard I try I just can't help it. It's not just golf anything I'm into, I get obsessed with, when in started painting I did the same thing, watched youtube videos, learned different techniques, studied everyday. It's how I'm wired. I want to just play golf. I want to be a stupid monkey. I want to be happy with a swing and stick with it. Instead of constant tweaks. This is a topic that gets discussed quite a bit. I know LSW tells me I am going to score better the closest to the green I am, rough or not. So its hard to not just grab driver. Even though on good drives it could mean less than a lob wedge in or even sometimes a pitch on those short par 4's. -

Me as well, but i think this is part of my problem. For some reason since I don't warm up much, it's easy to shrug off bad shots and then sometimes even make a half decent recovery. Say the drive on hole one is a worm burner leaving a long approach, I am not going to, rehearse my swing trying to feel if i closed my face, delofting, coming from the inside too much shallowing my swing, while standing up a lil, hitting off the bottom of the club. I just go up to the long approach use a longer club and swing. For some reason as the round progresses, my bad shots mean more, and i start trying to fix them and survive the round usually making it worse. -

This happened last time we were on vacation after christmas at the club med course in Sandpiper Bay FLa, as well as my home course sterling links richmond hill Ga. The club med time was probably more anxiety of having a sub 40 front because i got a 6 on the par 3 10th. Home course I have played the front more than the back. Meaning when the time changes i usually walk 8 holes of the front once a week or so, plus the normal round. I haven't been tracking stats like i should, I have been a horrible putter lately and only slightly better with longer clubs. I feel like on those rounds i putted well and hit good approach shots ,ngirs etc, on the front and then on the back I had more penalties off the tee box, etc. The back nine at sterling is super short but has more hazards, a good golfer makes easy work of it, a bad golfer stays in the trees and swings driver on every hole because if i am ever going to drive the green its going to be on a 275-280 ish par for which there are two on the back. When i did track stats it was annoyingly accurate and bad. Cleary showing a two way miss. 4 way if you count long and short for greens. I think i deleted old game golf stats but i will post a snapshot later if i can find one. -

Can anyone point to a thread that talks about shooting low (for us) on the front but then typical or worse on the back? I have had a handful of rounds where I will break or tie my best on the front nine shooting only 3 or 4 over, then on the back i will have 10 more strokes easily. Ive had 38-52 39-48 etc. Honestly if i kept handicap by nine holes it would be scary. -
Strategy to get better
sirhacksalot replied to EastTexasgolfer's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
In one of the links above you'll see the 5 s's of good practice or something along that lines. I think that we all and for me big time, confuse working on full swing mechanics and hitting balls. Slow concentrated swings to groove the mechanics should not matter between 7i and 4i, I would think. LSW is a good book that can lower scores with just the course management and shot zone sections. I have had the book for awhile but have not put forth the effort to map zones, though its been on the list for sometime. I just got a range finder this weekend so hope to do so soon. I could have done by pace. but i am lazy.- 9 replies

Have you tried turning the sound off completely and just doing a voice over on the video to combat wind? -
Once time changes i hope to play a few holes a day if possible. The comfortable thing is there, i am comfortable doing it, 9/10 times will have a better or equal result as going high, or low. I even got rid of Game golf because i convinced myself practicing that i would be using 8 and 9 irons from 80 - 100 yards out if not having to carry anything. But I go to play and i just forget. and don't remember until after the round or i see something on here like today and it just baffles me. Some of my best shots of a round are punch shots under limbs that have just enough to get to the green and release on. I have tried to convince myself to play that way but then i forget.
