OK looking to get a new bag soon .. i think i want a cart bag . my budget is 250.00 usd or under . my putter has a midsize grip . my question is there a big difference in quality between bag manufactures . i was looking at callaway org 14 bag as all my clubs are callaway at this time .but sun mountain bags look very nice and ogio bags also look nice and look a little cheaper . i want whatever bag i buy to hold up. as i currently have a maxfli stand bag that i like, but when i remove my clubs threads are coming out. and also wrap around my grips. .... also i walk about half the time and use a two wheel pull cart when i do. will a stand bag or cart bag be better for the pull cart ? thanks for any answers .

heck id be happy if 2 things would come together in a round , most days seems like i only do one well . and then there's days where i cant do anything well ... come to think of it not sure why i like this game, much less am addicted to it....must be a glutton for punishment

JUST BOUGHT MY FIRST SET OF SGI IRONS THIS YEAR BIG BERTHAS. AND NOT BEING A GREAT PLAYER HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH HITTING LOWER IRONS . WELL AFTER SOME TIME WITH THESE IRONS. I CAN TELL PEOPLE THAT FOR ME. EVEN THOUGH THE LOFTS ARE LOWER, A 6 IS LOFTED LIKE A OLD 5 ETC. THEY FLY JUST AS HIGH AS THE NUMBER THEY ARE COMPARED TO A 6 WILL PLAY LIKE A 6 BUT GO AS FAR AS A 5 . ITS A LOT OF FUN FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO HIT 4,5, AND 6 IRONS WITH SOME HEIGHT AND THEY DO GIVE ME SOME CONFIDENCE . BUT THEY ARE STILL EASY TO HIT POORLY AS WELL . I HONESTLY THINK ANY ONE WHO PLAYS A SET OF THESE FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME WILL UNDERSTAND . THAT LOFT IS NOT THE SOLE FACTOR TO HEIGHT AND SPIN. MY OLD SET OF IRONS THAT IM COMPARING TO WAS WILLSON 1200 TN FROM ABOUT 1988.

Started with 3 pars in a row on. It was a fun round ended up with a 45 for the round which is good for me .

started off with some used wood woods which i actually liked. then when i was about 13 my dad one me a set of wilson 1200 tn wich i thought the irons were ok .but i never liked the small driver. i still have these clubs ... i play a callaway x2hot which i like a lot . i hit the wilson driver for fun last year and caught it pretty good . and thought what a terribile club . i bet it was about 20-40 yards short of the x2hot and if you mishit it at all it makes you pay a lot no forgiveness at all.

Wish i would have played more with my dad and uncle. As my dad can barley walk now. I also wish I wouldn't have quit the game for so many years . just got back into it last year, after about 24 years away .

mine has to be a 150-170 carry over water on a par three. as i'm not good with mid to lower irons and woods will carry to far . it definitely gets in my head and makes these shots even harder... second would have to be a heavy downhill putt for birdie or par .

hi black and gold . if your looking for used callaway . i would suggest callaway preowned . as u can be sure they are not counterfeit . i just bought big bertha irons 4-aw and a 3 wood x2hot to finish my set and saved about 40-50 % from new and you have to look close to see they were hit ..also they put new grips on them as well . they have sales as well not sure when though ... i have the x2hot driver and like it very much 9.5 with stiff shaft tour blue adliia shaft . i really like the used clubs and will buy from them again in the future if the need arises . talor made also has a used site but i have no experience with that .. good luck

Sorry about what happened. That sucks . just wanted to say if your looking for new clubs. And you don't mind used make sure you check callaway preowned. I just bought big Bertha irons and x2hot 3 wood. Great condition on the clubs and you know there not counterfeit. I saved about 40% off from new. They also sell other brands there .but have not tried any of them yet . good luck hope you can find some good deals.

anyone ever use almost practice golf balls , i'm thinking of buying a driving range mat for the garage .and just want to hang a heavy old comforter to hit into with these almost golf balls .does anyone think this will be ok .. all the nets iv'e looked at do not get very good reviews... and i will need to move it daily . so don't want to take up and down a net etc . people say these ball wont damage or break glass . but it says you can hit it about 100 yards with a driver. so i'm thinking it may damage something or not be stopped by a comforter.

I play guitar spent a bunch on that but its free now. And I play in chess tournaments but I win money about 30% of the time. I do have some guns as well but golf is number 1 now behind guitar. And I live 30 minutes from a free golf course in hermitage pa . but I still spent a lot on golf. I tend to allow myself one big purchase a year for my hobbies. But with work there's not enough time for them all.

callaway x2hot driver 170...x2hot 5wood 99.....big bertha irons 4-aw 600.....top flight tour counter balance putter with wedge 80....older 3 wood that i had laying around 20.....total 970 well my set has gotten much more expensive in the last year...but i got to say i love these clubs so its worth it....

others have said to check calloway preowned . i just bought a set of big bertha irons from them and there great . i got the like new condition, 4-aw for almost half of what the new set would cost.. and they look almost brand new, you really have to look close to tell . plus you know they will not be counterfeit . just something to think about more options for you. also they all came with new grips. i got them during a 30 % off sale not sure how often they have sales but may be worth it to wait . if you want to try this route .

thanks for all the responses . i bought new irons and ended up getting used through callaway preowned . they had 30 % off deal got the 2015 big bertha 4-aw and hit them today and couldn't be happier. got the like new from them and they are in great shape . i took them to the indoor range and they launch nice and high for me and seem very easy to hit .i even hit about 50 % very good shots with my 4 iron of the grass. it is very low lofted so i was worried but it gets it up in the air. i will get the lessons then get fitted after my swing gets better . olny problem now is i cannot wait for the weather to warm and get to the course .. thanks again for all the responses it is appreciated .

Dec 6 and playing golf in Youngstown Ohio got to love that . shot pretty bad 57 about 9 or 10 over what i normally shoot . it was in the 40s outside. but i was very happy because i still pared two holes. and i haven't played for about 2 months due to a hurt back. back flared up on 1 drive on a par 5. i rested for 20 minutes letting people through. then all was well. i hit some pretty good shots as well and was playing the last 3 holes pretty good . the course was also packed which was good .

isn't it better to hit the ball higher though . wouldn't it stop better on the greens etc. as long as you don't loose distance..? and the spin is the same on the ball ? that's what i don't understand. yes i may get some of the hybrids as well . as i have some cheaper ones now and don't typically hit 4 or 5 iron . but i thought with the lessons and hard work i could hit the 4 iron and 5 iron . as my hybrids are easier to hit but distance is harder to control and seems harder to hit straight as well . also i do not plan on getting a 3 iron . was thinking to get 4-aw but i may choose 5-aw with a 4 hybrid in the bag . and that's the problem so many choices . was way easier when i thought all clubs were the same. did you like the g30 when you tried them ?

merry Christmas to me. my wife has given me the go ahead for a least 5 lessons this year and new irons both, yea. now the problem i'm having is i think i want to get fitted for pings irons im looking at g-30 and the newer gmax .. the g30 are listed as game improvement the gmax super game improvement. i guess my question is why wouldn't everyone want the super game improvement. im liking the gmax on paper, but i will probably get the one that feels best and that the guy giving me lessons recommends. as he will also be giving me the fitting . but i do worry as i think it will be hard to tell from just one use of each club . if anybody has hit both,or even other setups where they have the same name brand but different category of irons. would appreciate your feedback as i will hope to keep these irons for a long time . also i will be working very hard this year to improve my play not sure if this will matter . will the g-30 give me more room to grow etc ?and for a little info i hit my higher irons pretty well as far as consistency 7-pw good and 5-6 is hit or miss and 4 iron is brutal to hit of the deck..distances with current clubs are ..pw 100.....9i 110....8i 120....7i 130.....6i-130-160.....5i 130-175....4i 100-160.....so much info its very hard to understand what would be the best club for me .. thanks for any replies ....

iacas . you make very good arguments here, unfortunately people always think more laws will help. and they always think these things can be prevented ...the sad truth is i think these things are here to stay . the USA has over 300 million people in it . so i don't know how you can possibly screen out the people that do these things at 100% efficiency .you already can't obtain a firearm in Ohio if your a felon , not sure about mental health history background checks . but that kind of law may also prevent people from seeking help in the first place . so if you propose to make guns illegal , it may help, it may not , cocaine, and meth is illegal yet people manage to get these fairly easy. and with Canada and mexico and some countries in south america with legal gun ownership .i suspect the black market would become fairly easy to obtain guns . even if you managed to get rid of all the ones here . I do know that it will make it impossible for law abiding home owners to defend their families during multiple assailant home invasions . and yes these do happen . lets start blaming the people who commit these crimes and dealing with them harshly and swiftly first .

My goal is to break 90 and average at least 94 or less . I will do this buy getting at least 5 lessons and working everyday on my game .

i own guns , and am for gun ownership. the idea that more laws will stop violence is just wrong . for the people who truly believe this please look at Chicago USA. as they have some of the stricter laws related to gun ownership. yet shootings are rampant there at this time . also when you compare gun deaths in the USA please be aware that statistic includes suicides as well as people who protected themselves or there families and were justified in doing so.

Ok everyone i have a problem. i hurt my back at work i'm a auto mechanic. for 3 weeks i couldn't walk right and my work was very painful . the first concern on my mind was will i be able to play golf comfortable this year . after thinking about it that's a little messed up ..lol ...on the bright side its very cold in northeast Ohio so i have time to let it heal but i want to go to the driving range ...the good news for me is after going to the doctor, xrays ... some sort of shot ... steroids ..and mussel relaxers my back feels so much better i think will be fine by the new season... and hopefully to start practice soon...anyone else hurt themselves and have one of the first worries be golf ????
