made some swing changes over the winter really struggled out of the gate and was as high as a 6 index there was a point where breaking 80 was tough for me then I had a turning point (honestly I think it was switching from blades....uuhhgg again) and dropping the 4i for a 23º hybrid once i put the S56's in the bag and the A12 hybrid, i was having some incredible scores my low of the year was a 71 on a decent track here last year held a 2 index basically on one course, this year i held a 2.4 on like 10 courses (no membership this yr) but i played ONE tournament all year...lat yr I played almost 8 i think? not sure, but just had ZERO interest in competing really nothing to prove i guess?? not sure maybe next yr ill get the tourney bug back again, well see

choosing rain gear, is like choosing the right winter gear after working in a sporting good store for years and back country snowmobiling for years as well.....i know a thing or 2 about good gear buying the right gear to keep you WARM and ALIVE in the back country is essential couple KEY things to look for: 1. taped seams - an ABSOLUTE MUST. Remember the sh*tty rain gear a few years ago that the US Ryder Cup team had....um yea...no taped seams. Open stitch means water leaky ;) 2. breathability - it must be made of a material that will allow moisture (that is body heat moisture) to be wicked away. Think of a garbage bag..yes it will keep water out, but will not let your body breathe, which causes moisture INSIDE the jacket. 3. Venting - ok so why does a rain jacket have to have zippered venting? See above regarding breathability 4. Fit - it must fit your properly to work properly. You must be able to freely swing a club, yet be snug enough to not let water get in. A rain suit is something you buy like every 5+ years. Yes you dont play in it that often, but when you do, you want your a$$ to be dry Don't be afraid to spend a few bux My suit RETAILED over $1100 and is pretty much the BEST Sun Ice has to offer....but i waited till an end of season sale, and paid $500 for it all.

How important is getting fit for your irons
enis750 replied to Leftygolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
not to offend any of the higher cappers, but getting custom fit for new clubs should be the furthest thing from your mind spend the gnote on lessons it will make the game more enjoyable knowing your spending money on something that WILL improve your game for the record - i have never custom ordered anything i have purchased OTR clubs (95% from ebay) and play them at standard length , i am also 6'1" i have had a few sets bent to a flatter or more upright lie, but not all of them today i am a low single digit index w OTR Ping S56 irons black dot...which sit about .25" shorter than standard and 2* flatter than most -
Also have this club Really like it altho im not a fan of the PJX shaft Maybe put a fubuki or something like that in there Head is hot for sure I have mine cranked down to 14.25 loft and its great! Goes forever and really forgiving Really the whole 910 line is a homerun :-D

wow, opened this up and was wondering if i got drunk and wrote it myself!! LOL! dude, I feel your pain check this sh*t out.... started the year as a 1.9 index, currently a 6...yes A SIX!!!!!!! breaking 80 has become what used to be "the norm" and shanking? yesterday i hit a mint 3w up the guts on a hole that is only 385yds, but maybe 75yds wide, treelined, elevated bunker protected green (hole index is a 1) im 130 in and flat out shank it right in the bush....really now?????!!!!!!! uugghhh.... played the front 8 at 2 over, double 9, bogey 10, double 12 and 13, bogey 14, 16 and triple 18 (par 71 course) talk about a smooth 85 hey???? and this was my home course that i played over 60 rounds at last year last night as i was thinking about what happened, i realized i only hit 3 fwy's (two i didnt hit driver on) and 4 GIR pretty tough to score w those stats im exhausted today after that round (also cause i was in 38ºC heat) but still my mind is fried i keep telling myself that it will get better, but it hasnt ive seen a pro....2 of them to be exact just cant bring the game form the range to the course im not to the pint where i wanna quit, but something has to give one hole ill play like a scratch or better and feel like its coming back, then follow it up w a double or something stoopid sorry, but having "FUN" is tough when your used to scoring and i play 2-3 times a week and practice on the days i dont play nothing has helped......

Need some Driver shaft advice.
enis750 replied to CyclistOK's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
kinda tough to say EXACTLY what you might need, and i am not a fitter by any means...BUT i fight high spin just like you my thoughts: *the shaft in that new SF 2.0 will do nothing for you. Its too light and more than likely not stiff enough for you w a SS around 115. *the SF head isnt exactly a low spin head either or low launch reducing spin on your driver is what i fight the most things i have tried and been somewhat successfull heavier shaft (in the low to mid 70's) and a little stiffer than stiff, not quite X for me (im in the 108-111 SS range) lower lofted head choose a shaft w a high kick point and stiffer tip section i am using an FT tour 8.5º w a PJX Graphite 7C3 6.0 shaft so far so good very low spin, MUCH MUCH lower launch angle than any driver i have used...and this is a higher launch head too you can buy ANY high end shaft as a one time pull for about $100 i have used the following "high end" shafts and havent paid more than $99 for any of them *Diamana White board *Diamana kai'li *OBAN Devotion *Matrix F7M Limited *PJX 7C3 also tried some great "budget wise" shafts for under $50 *Graffaloy Pro Launch Red *Matrix "orange crush" MFS 65N *Graffaloy Pro Launch Red AXIS *Graphite Designs Aura RED my fav's are the Aura Red and the PJX 7C3 the white board was nice, but not worth all the hype it gets if your interested, i still have the Graffaloy PL Red and the Matrix Orange crush MFS 65N's in my office the Graffaloy is a one time pull and the Matrix is brand new PM me if you want one, ill get rid of em on the cheap (both long enough for a driver) -
i play the HL shafts in my 4 & 5i Titliest 710 CB's i like em, good for holding greens from 200+ out little lighter, but i like it for me, i picked up over 5yds switching from S300 to X100's for me they werent any harder to hit, but my shots dont spin as much, less ballooning and MUCH tighter dispursion check the lofts on the new irons compared to your old...they could be way out a combo of new shafts and heads can take some time to get used to i have only had my new irons in the bag for 10 rounds and am just starting to dial the distances in i need to get my 9i loft checked out tho..... last 3 rounds, i have nuked it over 170 yds and its a MAX 150 club for me...frusterating

the AWT shafts are flighted and weigh117 grams DGS400's are 130gms PJX 6.0's are 120gms thats a pretty noticable diff IMO shafts are pretty personal, but IMO there is no better than DG I have tried DG, PJX (flighted and non) and KBS i switched from DGS300 to X100's this year and picked up about 5yds per club more than likely due to a ball flight that isnt ballooning and lower spin best move i have ever done

TW needs a head coach...and to start bangin HO's again....for real dude was more than likely stressed about getting caught that he has to much time for golf!! LOL! I dunno, not much of a stats or technical guy or even know much about the swing in general....so i can't comment on what hes doing right or wrong and i bet most of us on here don't know on here either, other than repeating whats been heard on TGC or TV in general I think Bubba is on to something tho stop thinking about it so much and just play by feel concentrating too much on stats and mechanics can make you forget about the task at hand maybe im wrong...... ???? who knows.....
