This is just a guess, and given the head angle obscuring facial details it's probably a wild guess, but that looks a lot like Ian Baker-Finch to me. Additional speculation: that's a BGC jacket in that pic. Did Ian, an Australian, ever belong to (or sport the colors of) the famous Brisbane Golf Club? If so, might help make the case. Can I ask why this is "crucial"? Sounds dire! Good luck with it.

Bag It:

3-Wood Wishon 525 F/D, 13*, Matrix Studio 65gm, Golf Pride Dual Compound
Hybrid: Wishon "321", 24*, MSF 85 HB, Winn DSI
Irons: Wishon 770CFE, Matrix Studio 74gm, Winn DSI

Putter: Odyssey DFX 2-Ball

Bag: Some big, honkin', ridiculous overkill of an Ogio cart bag with more pockets than I have teeth.

If an Open winner slept with my wife I'd only be upset if she didn't get me an autograph. (He'd probably birdie THAT hole, too.)

I would say you are correct on person but not the GC. I bet it is Beerwah Golf Club http://www.beerwahgolfclub.com.au/ .

September 1992 saw the Club granted a license to operate Poker Machines. It also saw the official launch of the Ian Baker-Finch Junior Classic.

And his family seems to be involved with the club before.

Not even a passing resemblance to IBF. Not one single similarity.

And....if you know anything about the Brisbane Golf Club, you would also know that its logo doesn't even remotely resemble that thing on the jacket.

The Brisbane Golf Club was established in 1896 - their logo represents that heritage. It doesn't look like anything like that. And it isn't Beerwah, either.

My guess would be that it's a football (soccer) player.

If it is a golfer it might be Jesper Parnevik.

Like I said, it was just a guess. Based on an almost 20 year old memory. But Shorty, really? You don't think either of the following two pics of IBF have even a single similarity to the OP's image? I'm not saying it's a definite, but can you see where one might make the connection after imagining either with his head bowed? Impressive work, Kieran.

Still interested to know why its crucial.

Judging from the 4 on the photo I'm going to guess its some sort of trivia question.

ha, OP posted what I thought was a strange topic elsewhere and I clicked through to see what his other post was.  Didn't notice the dates.

So this means that the mystery as to why the answer was so crucial has remained unresolved for almost eight months!  Too bad Cold Case isn't on TV anymore.

I also spent close to a half hour reading about Tony McCoy.

The ratings for "Hatfields and McCoys" on the History Channel set a basic cable record, so interest in all McCoy's is WAY UP!

A P McCoy is a freak, he regenerates his body at a stupid rate then jumps back on more horses so they can throw him off again and break more bones.

He is also, by a distance, the best & hardest working jump jockey in the business, and comes across as a really nice fella.

Shame he's an Arsenal fan

Here is what I learned about Tony McCoy:

  • He is a regular sized person AND a jockey
  • He looks a little bit like Dennis Leary.  Sometimes.
  • He must have taken a nasty fall  because google returns some pictures with his face all bloodied
  • He was the Champion Jockey (jockey who rode the most winning horses that year) every year from 1996-2011
  • I don't think he was in "The Adventures of Tin Tin" but someone with his name was.
  • He was NOT a party to the 2003 truce between the Hatfields and the McCoys. It is unclear whether he is continuing the feud, or unaware of it.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
