Dvorak's New World Symphony - one of the few symphonies I can listen to all 4 movements without losing interest.  I think number of movie composers - Star Wars, 7 Samurai - probably liked this symphony a lot :-).   I can almost hear it in their soundtracks.

Over Thanksgiving I decided to reminisce about a song I once loved. I saw Arlo in concert at college, and was amazed at what a performer he was. Like the song above, his concert was littered with rambling stories that all criss-crossed, and oddly tied together into a coherent theme.

What struck me this time was how times have changed. I've set the link to go to 15:04, and he is discussing how his song could be used as a protest if only people would go to register for the draft and sing a bar or two from this song. If one person does it, they'll think you're nuts. If tons of people do it, they'll think it's a movement, yada yada.  But the line he uses about what'll happen if two people do it.... whew, that is just not PC today!!!

One of favorite Dylan songs. Something about assassin's eyes and sapphire tinted skies in the lyrics. Not sure what it means completely but he's got a way with words.
