Just curious how many people have shot par or better here.

I mean for a full 18 holes of regulation golf, no gimmies, mulligans etc..

I might be an anamoly in that I've broken par for 9 holes dozens and dozens and dozens of times... including 1 under on the front 9 at the TPC at Boston and 2 and 3 under on many other tough 9s.... but I've somehow never broken par for 18. That is now my goal, and I am very focused on it. I'm playing to about a 3.7 and was down to a 2.... thinking back I'm kind of stunned that I've never experienced the feeling of breaking par.

Best round was an 82 on a par 71, so i'm getting there. My goal this year is to not shoot above 89 for the year, and break 80. By the end of the year, I expect to be a single digit handicap...

37 for 9, 81 for 18. I've been as much as three under par before, but it never lasted.

I've been under par for two holes once (opened par-birdie), but a double at the third ended it. It isn't an explicit goal of mine, but I would like to extend the number of holes through which I can be at even par or better. On the other hand, the two courses I'm going to start playing more regularly (Rancho Park, Knollwood CC) have tougher opening holes than my previous home course (Woodley Lakes).

Best ever was 4 over. I double bogeyed the first hole, pared the next 8 holes, and on the back I had 4 bogeys and two birdies with 3 pars.

nope never. went out once in 35, but don't ever ask about the back 9.

played a few times with my financial planner's father. he walked, I rode, he consistently outdrove me, carried a full conversation with me the whole round, never lost his temper or I never saw him get angry or frustrated...just smooth the whole way 'round. he shot 4 under, 68. it was amazing to watch. since then, played with him a few times, each time at least 2 under. one day I'll be like that.

Best score was a 68 on a par 72 course (Keller Golf Course - blue tees, St. Paul MN). Best round was actually an even par 72 in tough conditions (Links at Northfork - Ramsey MN). Shot 5 under on the front nine once and then hit 3 balls OB on the 10th tee and walked off the course.

Probably somewhere in the vicinity of 200 times over the past 20+ years. I had 2 under yesterday and 1 under the day before that so I'm playing well at the moment. The best I have ever had was 8 under but that was 20+ years ago, the best I have had in the last 5 years or so is 4 under. The first time I broke par I had 3 under, that was when I was 14 years old. I'm usually pretty steady, don't make a lot of bogeys and very few double bogeys so if I can manage to make 4 or more birdies in a round I'll probably have under par.

I came up with the figure of 200+ rounds under par by looking at my stats for the past 3 years since I began keeping them, in the past 3 years I have logged 130 rounds and been under par 23 times, so I just did some maths and figured out that I break par one in six outings, I don't play as much now as I used to 15 years ago so I just did some multiplication and 200+ sounds about right.

Keep in mind though, most times I go under par it will be at my home course and only 1 or 2 under. I've only had three different home courses in the past 27 years. Play at the same track a few hundred times and you know every break on every green and almost every blade of grass and tree. I have very rarely ever broken par on a course I play infrequently, from memory it'd have to be less than 10 times.

Three under for nine (33 on a 36) is my best nine hole score. That is also my best eighteen hole score (shot even on the back ).

However, I did shoot two under on my back nine today in a tournament.

Just curious how many people have shot par or better here.

I've shot a 3-under 69 three times, and 70's and 71's more times than I can count (including a 1-under 71 yesterday).

I remember my first really good chance to break par for 18 holes. I was one under par when I got to the 18th hole, and I preceeded to knock my approach shot within three feet of the hole (setting up a great birdie chance to go to 2-under). I then preceeded to three putt. If you ever break the par barrier you'll probably find it easier (both mentally and physically) to do again (I know I did).
