Only to warm up, not to work on stuff. Here's my program:
- Stretch
- 6 (or so) PW's
- 6 7 irons

Always.

The stiff, old muscles and joints need a little loosening up.

Sorry...

That is just about exactly what I like to do. Stretching before / during / after hitting the shots is really nice.

I like to warm up on the range.....ease over to the chipping green....and wind up the last 15 mins or so on the putting green. All of this is assuming that I can get to the course an hour or so early....sometimes, though, it's just get there grab your sticks and haul but to the first teebox while still tying your shoes and stretching......

I like to hit 20-30 balls before the round, just to loosen up and check my swing for the day. I'll hit several wedges and then concentrate on the clubs that I know I'll use the most that day (long course I'll hit hybrids and 5-6 irons as well as driver more; short course I'll warm up more with short irons and 2H). If I do not get a chance to warm up I'll almost always shoot 5+ strokes worse. I also want to hit a few putts for speed and hit a few chips.

Im at the range before a round to warm up and stretch out. I dont care where the ball goes at all. Probably half shots i hit at the range before a round are 50 yard pitches. Ive played some of my best golf after hitting the ball like crap on the range.

It's interesting how I can hit the ball horribly in warm-up then play lights-out during the round. Most of the time, the better I hit ball during warm-up the worse my round will be and vice versa.

I did NOT vote because there was no...

SOMETIMES, and my score suffers w/o a proper warm-up.

Like Harvey says in the Little Red Book... best warm-up if in a hurry is chipping, and if I'm real pressed for time this is usually what I do, but ideally I like to shag about 20-30 balls, and putt and chip for 10-20 minutes, unfortunately more often than not I just hit a few chips and go play.

for me I seem to play worse if I hit balls or no difference at all. Not sure. I would rather not be in a hury and not hit balls. I hate, hate, hate, being rushed. I would rather putt, pitch and stretch.

The only time I ever warmed up on the range before a round was for high school tournaments. I would have been better off attending calculus class.

Just a few to loosen up and see my trajectory tendencies for the day. Then like they say, "I dance with who I brought to the party".

I'm down to a 10 handicap. At this rate, I'll get to scratch at 90 years old!

I have never been on the driving range right before a round, mostly because we tee off right after work at 4 PM and want to be able to finish the round before dark.

It takes me about 4-6 holes to warm up, so I'm quite sure some range time would help me warm up properly and keep my first drive from slicing OOB.. as it nearly always does.
