Hardest Hole On Your Course?

I play on a pretty tough course.
The hardest hole is a 409 metre (nearly 450 yards) par 4.

There is two tiers.
It is on the top of a big hill and if you can carry the ball over 250 yards it's an easy hole but if you can't your left on the top with over 200 yards to a small green surrounded by bunker.
I've never hit it in 2.

The prevailing wind is into your face, they were thinking of making it a Par 5 but it's too short.

About a 420 yard par 4, only there is a sharp dogleg right about 220 into the hole, followed by a steep uphill shot to the green protected by 2 bunkers on the left, OB to the right. The green slopes down towards the hill and is quick, so if there is a front pin placement and you are putting down to the hole and miss, the ball rolls down the hill. Oh yeah, there is an arroyo protecting the right hand side so you can't work your ball around the dogleg, it will go into the arroyo.

Hole #13 appropriately! OB all down the right side, entire fairway is left to right downhill! It's not necessarily a dogleg but the right side gently curves from tee box to the green to the right! Also, tee box is all the way against the right so if a play a fade like me, you better aim left of the box and just pray that isn't the one that went dead straight!!!!

The toughest hole at my home course is #11, It is a dogleg right 545 yard par 5....A creek runs left along the narrow fairway with another water hazard on the right side at about 285 yards. The green is elevated about 12 feet with 3 deep bunkers around the green......The green's undulation is definately interesting, very tough hole........

#5 par 4 405 yards straight hole with trouble in driving zones and really tricky greens with tough bunkers when the pin is on the top right of the flag

2 holes -

#1 is a 452 yard Par 4 dogleg right with water on the right for the drive (top hole in pic below)

#3 is a 500-ish par 5, dogleg right with a elevated green and a marsh bordering short and left of the green.

Mine is a par 3 with a road to the right and behind, (upper right hand corner). I have never hit the green, often miss left and chip over from the perpetual tight lie. The next two holes are water and no problem at all for the big clown shoe.

Mine is a 420 par 4, it starts from an elevated tee, the fairway deep down then rise back up to an elevated green. There is a hazard on the left, and trees on the right. Its a slight dogleg right, but there are a group of trees that shrink the fairway a bit and forces your eye sight towards the hazard. The green is guarded by two bunkers, and its a two teir green that in the summer you can easily putt it off the green.

I hate this hole because it doesn't suit my eye. I hit a slight draw, and i have to aim over the trees on the right to get the center of the fairway. Then the green is pure evil.

It is 450 yards.. with a 15-30 mph wind always blowing.. from which direction depends. Fairly narrow fairway, with no where to bail out. I have played a few shots off the beach.. .and I draw the ball :)

#18 a par 4 of 385 yards from the white tee. It's a shorter version of 18 at Augusta with a much bigger green. I have never hit this green in two nor have I made a birdie. My stroke average on it last year was 5.57.

#13 - par 4 - from the tee you have about a 20yd gap to fit your tee shot between a group of trees on the left and a forest on the right. it's uphill and then fades into a valley that slips left to right. if you hit your drive to the top of the hill you'll have 160-175yds to the green. the green is slightly uphill and has 3 levels. par is excellent, bogey is good.

Mine is #6. 555 yard par 5 from the whites, 562 from the blues and 660 from the tips. I play from the whites and it is a 3 shot hole with no chance for me to go at it in 2. The second shot is played from a hook lie (for righties) with a swamp left and must be played low and between two HUGE 40 foot tall trees over a creek. Absolutley brutal. I can't imagine playing that hole from the tips. I just checked and my stroke average on this hole is 6.3!

Mine is #4. It's a 370 yard par 4 with a dogleg right. You can't hit driver off the tee because if you hit it straight its O.B. long and if you play the appropriate fade your ball will funnel right to a water hazard. Three wood is the best bet for par but it can go through the fairway and into a bunker. OB left the whole way, and water hazard right off the tee shot. If you decide to play it safe and hit a long iron, trees block your approach shot and it's usually 200 yards to the center of the green. A creek crosses in front of the green and a large bunker above the green kills anything long. The prevalent wind pushes shots toward the water hazard. It's just a hole where bad things can happen on every shot. Until the ball stops rolling on the green, you are nervous. That hole can kill a good start.

Well the hardest one on my course is #17 - Par 3 181yds. from the back tees. The hole is the 14 handicap hole for the course, but anyone who plays there will tell you this is the hardest hole out there. Basically a 7i shot par 3 with a 20 yd. wide slot(fairway) to within 25 yards of the kidney shaped green that is sloped away from your tee shot. Also as your tee shot rises in elevation the tree limbs narrow your shot down even more. Now add a unpredictable prevailing wind blowing most of the time left to right at 10 - 20 mph., swirling where your ball starts decending to the green. It is just one of those hole that just messes with you from the tee and reaches up to bite you when you least expect it. If you click on my link in my signature the photos that scroll on the home page for the course, the third photo in the set is from the #17 tee box. The trees, although quite tall, are hanging over even more now though. It's a hole you must play to appreciate.

The finishing hole at my course (Sevillano Links) is a monster par 5. The hole is a roller coaster that doglegs left to an elevated green. The hole plays 561 yrds, for the ladies, with four other sets of tees stretching to 686 yrds. After a long day at this course this hole is a gut check!

#14 - Par 4 - 428 Yards: dogleg right with a creek running across the fairway (it's about 10 yards wide) at just about the 180 mark left to the hole. You either have to hit a flawless 265+ carry fading drive to go over the creek or hit it shorter with a fairway wood no farther than 245 or so with a longer shot to an incredibly fast back to front green...which could be hit only with a fade from that distance out. I've never had a birdie here...mostly bogeys, few pars and believe it or not one eagle...only one that's been on that hole in the last 14 years. (driver, 3iron)

We have two I consider to be equally tough.

#7 is 420yd par 4. Elevated tee into slight valley, then uphill. Have to hit driver due to the uphill, landing area can give some tricky uphill lies. Green is tiny, elevated, with bunker right. If you go left, you're basically chipping blind to the hole with no chance of stopping the ball as it's severe left to right tilt.

#14 is 450yd par 4. Dogleg left requires a solid 250-260yd tee shot to get to the corner, and there are large trees left so you must stay right without pushing into the right rough. Bunkers left and right of the green with a large shelf running through the middle of the green. Just a tough one because you must hit a great drive, then you're still left with a six iron or more into a protected green with potential for a tough putt depending on pin placement.

      For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
