Now that Tiger seems he's beginning to implement some of the principals? Especially if Tiger starts winning again and winning a lot, we may never see someone swing the "traditional" way again.

Luckily for me, I started implementing some stack and tilt principals a while ago. So at least I can rest easy knowing I'm not jumping on the band wagon.

Yeah same here. Makes golf seem a lot easier when you are only worried about having the right line and right club instead of wondering if you will hit it fat or thin.

It's becoming more and more of a big "if" he will win again. I think he is more likely to destroy the S&T; swing if he keeps driving the ball like he is and failing. The man could single-handedly destroy the popularity of the technique. Someone please tell him to shift his weight back and keep his chin up.

As I get older my swing looks more like "natural golf" with abbreviated backswing and followthrough.

For me... never. I know one guy who uses it, and he is less consistent now than he was before he started with it... only now he's so screwed up that he can't figure out how to switch back.

Uh, you know, S&T; is pretty much just a traditional swing with a few little tweaks, right? Most pros already use like 90% of S&T.; Tiger already had 90% of a S&T; swing in place before. The only major fundamental difference is the teaching method.

I'm not.

I'm gonna stick with my "WTFISTHAT" swing method.

If I could find a S&T; instructor in Calgary I would get lessons, but for the life of me I can't....and I won't drive to the States for that.

agreed. The only thing S&T; has now is an official name, but most of the qualities of what it promotes is what the great players have done for the last 60 years.

+1

I tried Stack & Tilt early last year, bought the DVDs, studied everything I could. It just did not register with me. I'm sure I have some S&T; in my swing though.

Yeah I do realize that. That's why I put quotes around the "traditional" part of my statement. I'm also referring to amateurs here. I guess I should have been more clear on that. I realize most pros already use many of the techniques that S&T; teaches, even if they don't realize it or openly say "Yeah I'm using S&T.;" Most amateurs have no idea how to swing and only follow advice from golf mags which means David Leadbetter, etc. Which as a result has them making a big swaying move off of the ball, etc.

What parts of S&T; has Tiger been implementing?

I'm not Sean Foley, but from watching video footage from the PGA when he was working on the range, it seemed he was working on getting his hands deeper on the backswing, allowing his right leg to straighten more, and rotating his left shoulder down more on the backswing. Stevie was even holding a club on the right side of Tiger's head to ensure his head stayed perfectly still on the backswing.

You seem like an otherwise open minded person. So because your friend didn't improve with it, probably because he didn't do it right in the first place, you're not even willing to try if it meant you could possibly improve?

What is wrong with Tiger's previous swing? You know, the one that garnered him 14 majors, 70+ wins, 3 US amateur titles, 3 US junior amateur titles, and over $100 million in money? Why doesn't he just use that one?

Becuase Tiger doesn't swing the same way now as he did when he won most of those tournaments. With his past injuries, his body just won't allow it.

By past injuries, are you including the ones inflicted by jealous wives and drunken girlfriends?
