Will I notice a significant difference in ball flight going from a 10.5 to 9.5 loft in my driver?

Any other differences to expect?

See if it helps my control. I tend to get a high ball flight which sends the ball far right when my slice kicks in. Im wondering if the lower ball flight might help a bit. Any thoughts?

will a lower ball flight help your slice? Not at all.

a 9.5* will help keep the ball juist a bit low and as jamo stated, keep it a bit less backspin. As for your slice, a driver isn't ging to fix or help that. Its your swing.

As a general rule, the less loft the more pronounced side spin. As a result, your slice will tend to increase with the less lofted club. You might find increasing loft on the driver or even using a 3 wood off the tee to be a better solution in your case. Even the best pros will pull it out when the big stick is acting up.

Yep. The high ball flight is not because of the driver, but your swing. Trying to mask it by hitting a lower lofted driver will not make you a better golfer.

I switched from 10.5 to 9.5 earlier this year; lower ball flight, and a little longer. I'm finally getting to downslopes on two of the holes on my home course, which is nice, because the rollout on those holes makes me feel even longer.

I'd say I picked up 15 yards in distance from this change, and it cost me about one fairway per round. I'd love to make the trade a second time if it were feasible (but I don't think I'd get that from an 8.5).

Dammit. I wanted to trade this guy my 9.5* for his 10.5* so i can get a little less spin and less slice. Why you guys gotta be so honest? I would go from 10.5 to 9.5 if I was a 16 index too. but im not. 20 and climbing lately. Ugh. Cant wait for my lesson

Sorry bud. I tried that last season when I started slicing off the tee. No driver will help. It took me one half hour session with the pro to identify why I was slicing and it fixed my problem. Slicing is (typically) one of the easiest corrections to make with a little time and money for a lesson.

What I Play:

Driver: R9 460
4 Wood: G15

Hy: Callaway FT 3Hy

Irons: AP1 4-PW

Wedges: Vokey 52* & 60*, Mizuno MP-T 10 58*

Putter: Newport Studio Select 2.7

Should be a bit less spin also I believe.

i think for a player looking for a lower ballflight, this will not be the case..... or better said : I think the ball flight might become that low that the player will come in steeper at the ball to get a decent height and the spin might well increase ..... instead of the expected decrease.

Best way to lower the spin rate is hitting the ball on the upswing !

Yup. I know this to be true, at least for me. Kinda like the 3 iron compared to the 6 iron. Less loft, more pronouced hooks and slices.

      I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.

      Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
