Well, I've kept the driver out of the bag for a while. I'd have only had 13 at that point except that I wanted my older putter in there, in case I want to go back to it during the round. Ended up using the Heavy for the whole round, though.

What's in my Tartan Precise TS-869 Bag:
Woods: Northwestern 1W, 3W, stock grip
Hybrids: 855 Graphite shaft 3H, 4H, Golf Pride Tour Wrap midsize grips
Irons: 855 R flex steel shaft 5-PW, Golf Pride Tour Wrap midsize grips
Wedges: PureSpin Tour Series Diamond Face 52* AW, 56* SW, 60* LW, Golf Pride...

Never. why carry less than 14? One club doesn't make too much of a difference in weight for me unless the course is extremely hilly...then it'll start wearing down on me but I always carry 14. I don't see a reason not to.

I have 13. Just don't see any need for more. Nothing really taken out. I gave up on carrying a LW some years ago, so I guess you could say that I took that out, but that happened quite a while back.

i shot my lowest 9 ever last week with 7 clubs (Driver, Hybrid, 5, 7, 9, GW, Putter). i typically take a few out when walking the course but i also enjoy trying to make shots with a club i wouldn't typically use in that situation. i think it requires you to be a little more creative which is something i enjoy.

I carry 13 but could probably drop one of my hybrids and not tell a difference.

Even though I'm a high 80's low 90's scorer, I don't really have the shot repertoire to need all the options.

13 and right now not missing anything. No gaps in my bag now. That will change with time I am sure though.

I have 13th now, but am planning on adding a 14th - as noted in another thread. Just getting my game (back) together now, I want to give myself every chance to play well. Perhaps sometime in the future I'll decide that I don't need all 14, but right now I don't know my game well enough to know what I can do without.

Last time I played I took my Driver, 3w, and 5w out of the bag just to strengthen my iron game. Ended up shooting one of the better scores I've shot.. despite 3 3-putts and a 4 putt... crazy fast greens that day.

My main set is 14. I could drop the 60, but it's has 14-way slots so there's no problem fitting them all in. To save carry weight on a nice day I pull out extra balls, rain gear, and even more extra balls.

I have some sets used only for "fun" rounds (aren't they all?) and taking to the range.

MacGregor set - 12 (Driver, 3wood, 2-W, putter)

Cleveland set - 13 (driver, 2-wood, 4-wood, 3-P, SW, putter)

Titleists - 12 (Driver, 5-wood, 3-PW, SW, putter)

Hogan Apex - 13 (driver, 5-wood, 2-9, 52, 60, putter)

Mizuno MP600 driver, Cleveland '09 Launcher 3-wood, Callaway FTiz 18 degree hybrid, Cleveland TA1 3-9, Scratch SS8620 47, 53, 58, Cleveland Classic 2 mid-mallet, Bridgestone B330S, Sun Mountain four5.

My best 2 rounds ever were shot while carrying only a 3 iron, 8 iron, and a putter. This was for a tournament that only allowed you to carry 2 clubs plus a putter.

Took 14 to the course today, but should have only taken 13. My driver killed me the first 9, switched to my 3w for the back nine and finally had some decent shots off the tee.

OK, I'll be the first... Mid round the other day I realized I had 15 in the bag. I didn't realize it until the 8th hole. Fortunately, I was playing a practice round and not a tournament or anything serious. I have since removed the offending extra club and I'm back down to 14.

Fairway: Launcher 2009 17*
Irons: X-18r 4-SW
