I recently tried various mid-mallet putters. Most were weighted about 320 to 350 gms. Nike Method, Ping Piper, Wilson 8883, Ray Cook Blue Goose, Odyssey Black #9 and Cleveland Classic. All were the same basic design (mid-mallet).

I settled on a Slotline SSi 693 that weighed 360 gms. Probably one of the heaviest out there. I was amazed how easy it is to putt with. Using the Slotline patented sight-line to ensure you are over the ball correctly, the SSi-693 putted very smooth. The heavier the putter, the better feel you can achieve on a faster green. I guess because you don't have to slam it. Edwin Watts was kind enough to order one for me........I am thankful as the heavier putter definitley works for my game.

As per my signature, I use SC's because I like the feel of them. I am currently gaming a Kombi-S (34", 335g) and it's one of the better putters that I have used. I find the sight lines easy to line up the ball and feel off the face is great. I would recommend it to anyone struggling.

I have been going back and forth between my Odyssey 2 Ball and Odyssey White Hot Tour #9 but I just ordered my first SC Newport. Can't wait to give it a roll!

I used to play a cheap putter that I picked up from Dick's Sporting Goods a long time ago. So last year when I found an Odyssey Crimson Series Mallet on sale for $50, I jumped all over it! It's a great putter but I've seen a lot of posts lately on the Rife putters, and I was just in my local golf store last night and saw them on sale for $90. Thinking about picking one up in the next few days...

SC Circa 62 No. 1. I like the uncluttered top view (no lines), I find it easier to align, and I love the feel.

I practice with a forged blade putter without alignment aids and still use it occasionally (George Lowe Sportsman Original 600 - mint condition with original leather grip).

Out on the course I use a Super Game Improvement putter - 10 years old but still a lot of technology in that flatstick (Odyssey White Hot #7).

I started off a few years ago with an Odyssey Rossie, which I gave to a friend, then got an Odyssey F7, which I sold, then a Studio Select Newport 2, which is sitting in the garage, before going back to mallets with the Rife 400. I was in the golf superstore the other day and putted with every mid-mallet they had. Guess which one I liked best -- the Odyssey Rossie.

Ha ha... thanks for the laugh Stretch. Reminds me of my old man; he's been through several putters each year only to end up with the same old mickelson-style cobra circa 1995. The upside (for me) is the his putter overflow has recently found it's way into my basement with the likes of a redwood a few TM rossas. I give the method he's currently using a half season before he offers it this way :)

As for me... I'm currently going the SGI route with my white-steel 2 ball and a superstroke slim grip. It looks pretty rookie, but man does it sink putts.

Got a Terylium Scotty (1995-ish) that I used to enjoy. Got a Bettinardi that is very nice. My current putter is a Rife Antigua. Best putter I have ever used. On sale now at The Golf Warehouse for $94. They have 5 models at this price to include the Aruba, a plumbers neck version of my putter. Goes to show the most expensive putters are not better in all cases. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course. But for me, the cheapest putter I have used is the best. Go figure?

I'm using an old Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Laguna 2.5. I picked it up used at a local golf store, and after cut down and re grip, it cost about $195. It took me about 3 months to get used to it, but I am sinking putts like crazy, and happened to set the district 9-hole record with a 34 yesterday (12 putts :) :) ), with 2 birds and no bogeys. Its weird when you go on a hot streak with a putter. You stand over a 35 foot putt and just feel like you are going to make it. I LOVE IT!!!!!! hahaha

I use a Cleveland classic #1 but after playing with a guy this past Sunday who used a putter that he made in his garage (hideous looking)and draining putt after putt after putt after putt.....you get the picture.Obviously it's the person and not the putter, and I understand about people saying how good their putter is but no way would I pay a rediculous amount of money for something that's gonna pay so little dividends
