Today I began working with my wife on the part of the swing that I was dreading working on with her the most: retention of wrist hinge/cock throughout the downswing.
I'm impressed with how quickly she picked this up, though, I must say. She was simply shown what the angle was, asked to retain it for as long as possible, and hit about 15 chip-length shots (that flew almost as far as her full swings before).
Then I asked her to hit a few full swings just feeling that same thing as much as she could. Not bad... Hips forward, good secondary axis tilt, left arm ahead of the shaft... The red lines show how close she got in 15 minutes to Charlie Wi (what, like I was going to discourage her by using Sergio or someone!
).
And yes, the clubface was wide open here. She tends to hit a little draw but these weren't quite coming back. ;-) Fixed up her grip quickly and she hit one more ball before we had to duck out to Wal-Mart for our passport photos (AimPoint clinic in Ottawa in June!).
Anyway, just sharing... I'm proud of her. She's worked hard.
P.S. She still swings only moderately fast - some people just have more natural speed. But this will help her a LOT.

I just tell her to do something and a few balls later she is doing it no problem.Guess thats the benefit of not building up two years of bad habits. Its great at the range, sometimes she picks up my driver and starts hitting big ones down the range and all the guys hitting balls start to get self conscious thats she is hitting them further.
