I've been working on a few changes to my swing this year.  I'm trying to stabilize my base a bit more, I was basically locking out my right leg and it was causing all kinds of timing issues.   I also wanted to work on dropping my hands to get the club into the slot in a better position and finally creating and holding some more lag in my swing.   I've always been a picker so my ball flight is higher than I'd like so everything is sort of coming together into one giant fix

I've been using drills like the 3 to 9 drill, the pump drill and using the fiberglass sticks to make sure I'm turning not swaying and that my hip slide is moving forward.   Tonight at the range I hit some of the most amazing shots I've ever hit.    The contact was dead center, I could almost feel the bend in the shaft and the swings were almost effortless.   The best part was I felt like I was barely swinging and the ball was just exploding off the clubhead.   Granted, as with all swing changes, I hit some real ugly fat shots but overall I'm getting close.    I can feel the changes in my swing coming together and my ballstriking (when it comes together) is the best it's ever been, at least for a least a few swings.    The challenge now is to keep ingraining the changes and bring it to the course.

I'm no sure how much longer it's going to take but I can just feel like I'm on the verge!

Yup. I know what you mean.

I started about 2 months ago with a 5x Par score, shanking balls, fat, thin, well everywhere but where I wanted it to go.

Over the last week or so I have been pounding things. As long as I remember my fundamentals the ball slams out there right where I wanted it to go.

This past weekend I hit two real pars a bunch of bogies, and had a birdie shot (missed it I was so excited).

As I learn to hit my hybrids, which is going slow, my other irons are staying or getting better. The driver and 3 woods are good, not long, but good.

I feel that I am ready to start with the fitting, my clubs are unknown as to whether or not they are "stock" off the shelf clubs (bought them used), and my first set of lessons with a pga teaching pro at Haggin Oaks GC.

This game is addicting and very cool.

Titleist F2 7 woods
Ping G graphite irons 5 - PW  Black Dot
Ping Gorged Glide Wedges - 50, 54, 58

What an amazing game this is.

That's great be patient with it and take notes when you hit those perfect shots so you can remember the feeling.

Good luck.

I was shooting a 91 or 92 every time I played golf for something like 4 months. Every time I'd have a couple holes where I threw away a couple strokes a piece due to dumb mistakes or terrible mishits. I felt so badly like I was just a hair away from knocking 4 strokes off my score. I was right. I've shot in the upper 80s the last two times I played. I've stopped hitting irons fat, I'm finding maybe half my fairways, my mishits aren't careening off into no man's land, my hybrids are giving me easy looks at par on par 5s, and my wedges get me relatively close to the hole whenever I chip. I'm so glad to be over the 90 hump. I swear that half of that was mental.

I am in the same boat.  It am hitting the 80's but I still give away a lot of shots.

I am at that point right now.  I have had so much going on with life, that I haven't had much time to hit the range.  I have hit the range once and played once in 6 months.  At the range, a few things dawned on me.  I took those to the course the next time I played and hit the ball better than I have in a while.  So I feel like the new triggers are what I have been missing.....the problem is that I haven't been able to get back to the range to try them for consistency.  If it goes like it did on the course, I think my game will finally take another step.  Then I can focus on something else.

Ive been shooting 82, 83, 81's for about 6 months... One round to remember, 6ft birdie put for a 79, missed it, missed the next one too. shot 81.

But in saying that, I counted 6-7 shots which were just plain dumb...!

Im out for a round today. Ive got a good feeling... hopefully a 79.

Still not playing to my index from last season. Last 4 rounds were similar to my last season June rounds though (81, 83, 82, 81) so I'm confident. My new driver is great. Not as long but super straight. I'm hitting more fairways (i.e fewer pitchoouts - woot!) and my distance control with my short irons is getting better. I didn't think I'd be shooting in the 70s at my new course (never have) but it's just around corner. Still - an 81 every time out would be okay as long as I don't shoot a 91 on league night!

I feel like that right now, actually. My short iron swing is right where I want it to be, I'm just slowly working it up to my longer clubs.

I have been stuck in the low-high 80's for almost a year.

I struggle putting two good nines together ( ie. a 44 then a 37 ).

I am hitting my irons great , but my driver and putter are streakier than a 2 year old's diaper.

If I can figure out my drives especially, I will break through, but smacking drive after drive at the range is tiring and boring. And for me, it is the hardest swing to try and fix.

Playing a very nice track this weekend ( Kokanee Springs ), so will try work on it before then.
