Yellow Tees....never use them and if one or more on tee box I will pick them up and dispose of them.

All started because I pulled a yellow tee out of my pocket (only one in my pocket or bag) and immediately hit

2 balls in the water...got rid of the yellow tee and don't use them any more....

A guy in my regular group never likes to par the first hole, he doesn't intentionally miss a par put but he's never happy if he pars the first hole. Wierd!!!!!

When I was 17 I had started to really get my game going in the right direction and I had just shot 2 rounds in the 70s. The first hole is a tough long par 4 and par is a solid score but this day I made a nice birdie. So now I'm thinking this is going to be my big break through round and from there on I struggled to make bogeys. I limped home with an 87 and after that round mentally I had a hard time if I birdied the first hole. I eventually got over it but it took quite a few good rounds after making birdie on the first hole so I feel what he is going through.

My big thing is to have my repair tool with ball mark and 4 tees in my right pocket.

If you score a hole in one on the first hole, you loose the round. (Like sinking the 8 ball on the break) I'm careful not to do this.

I don't like much in my right pocket, its not a superstition, its more it bugs me in the downswing.

Superstitions, i guess a preshot routine would come close. Like baseball hitters, who do the same thing, most contribute that to being superstitous, i guess subconciously a preshot routine might involve something superstitious.

Though I do say, if i have a bad hole, i will go to new golf ball, just to feel something different, new..

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

The guy I usually golf with refuses to use like-new balls found on the golf course.  He refers to them as "Mayan balls" because he thinks they will negatively impact his game.

I, on the other hand, have no problem using them considering the number of balls I tend to lose in a round.  He could be wrong, he could be right...

Lots of them dealing with golf balls...

- Never use a "water" ball when teeing off over/around water hazards.  That's giving up before you even start.

- Never putt into a hole with a ball already in it.

- Never use a yellow or orange ball.

- Never use a ball that you just found during a round you are currently playing.

- Never wash a ball and then use it right away at the tee where you washed it.

- Never mark a putt with any coin less than a quarter.

- If you suddenly realize you are mistakenly playing a Lady Precept, you have to keep on playing it.  (Don't ask)

I keep a spare ball and tees in my right pocket and a repair tool in left pocket. I also always take my glove off to putt. Also take my wallet out of my pocket and put in my bag.

Not sure if they are superstitions but here are my crazy habits...

Always mark my ball Heads up and the coin must be from year earlier than my best score (81 or older at the moment!)

If I sense I'm having a good round I refuse to add my score up mid round

I mark my ball with a smiley face and when ever I get to place the ball (tee box, green) I always have it staring back at me

I face my labrador head cover the where I want my drive to go

I start my preshot routine by tapping the ground twice

Never pick up a ball on the course unless I've lost one!

Always carry a ball on me

Never say "nice putt" until the ball is in the cup

Never say nice shot untill the ball stops moving
