ebay golf

would any of yall buy golf clubs on ebay? and what to look for to make sure club is i good condition.

I'm looking to.

I buy used clubs all the time on ebay.  Look for a seller that has lots of good ratings.(Global Golf,3balls,Dallas Golf }  Make sure they have a return policy. I have only 2 bad experiences and I was able to return them no problem.  Don't buy New clubs  at super low price because they are usually counterfeits.

I have and will continue. It's all about the reputation. I scored Adams hybrids, shoes, balls, etc. and never had a problem.

I just bought a Taylormade Rescue 11 18* off of Ebay from a private seller who is a PGA pro at a country club.  100% legit for $71. There are good deals on Ebay but with anything be careful and investigate if it seems to good to be true.  There are fakes out there.

Most of my clubs have come off of Ebay.  Ive been able to try out a lot of clubs that I never would have simply because I could buy used ones fairly cheaply off of Ebay.  I definetly wouldnt have as nice of a set as I have now if it werent for Ebay.

As long as you buy from a reputable seller who has a feedback rating of 99% or higher, you should be fine.  Ive certainly had a few instances where the seller overstated the condition of the club a bit but nothing that was all that big of a deal.  Recently I bought a set of Mizuno MX-300s and the seller said that one of the clubs had a rock chip in it, when in reality 4 of the clubs had rock chips in them.  Granted, none of the chips are in places that hurt the performance of the clubs but still, if I had known that half of the clubs had damage to them, I dont know if I would have bought them.

I've bought and sold a bunch on ebay. When buying, like other have said, look for good seller feedback and with new clubs if the deal is too good to be true, it usually is. I don't like stock photos of clubs and then a rating system. I normally find the clubs really don't meet my expections, a "few scratches" is normally a bunch of scratches, I like to be able to see what I'm buying. I like to buy from individuals that have a well written description of the item, at least one that makes me feel like they are a golfer that likes to buy and try a lot of clubs, just like me.

Well yeah.  Research, be smart.  So many good retailers on ebay why not.

I work in golf retail and about once a month I have someone come in and try to trade something in and/or get something fixed and we can't do it becuase its a fake.  Knock-offs are so common its ridiculous.  It's always the most popular sticks as well... ie. Scotty's, TaylorMades.  However, like the above have mentioned, there are good companys out there.  Just be prepared that you might get something thats not covered under warranty if something breaks...

I like to buy from from an authorized retailer for piece of mind that it's legit.

My exact thoughts, I'm really big on seeing actual photos, if you take the time to take a picture and have a solid description, then you probably have a vested interest in selling and are legit.  I have bought and sold over 50 clubs on eBay, overall I have been very satisfied, but I have had some deals that were not perfect.

I bought a Ping Redwood Anser that was in perfect shape, but when I putted with it I could tell it was not like the ones I had putted with in the store.  I took it to my local club builder and the loft and lie had been altered, which was an easy fix.  Also bought a set of Mizuno MP62's off of eBay, got them for much less than retail.  When I opened the box, the first club I pulled out was the 4 iron, it had a very small nick on the bottom of the sole.  At first I was upset, but it was the only club that had an issue, they were Mizuno at a very greatly reduced price, and you couldn't even see the nick at address.  I played those clubs for 6 or 7 years without any problems, so all in all it wasn't a big deal.

I have also bought and sold many clubs on ebay.  It's a great source for good used clubs.  I've bought from larger companies, that many have mentioned here, as well as private individuals.  I have been very satisfied and never had a problem.  My entire set, except for the driver, has come from ebay, as well as many others that I tried and re-sold.

You just have to spend some time watching the items and learning who the reputable sellers are.

I took a chance on a new set of Callway X-24 hot irons last year......I was lucky as they were originals......checked the Serial Number with Callaway when I received them.

Just make sure that you don't ship to your house or your wife will not be happy....ship to your office......LOL

I got a great set of irons from a private seller with good feedback.  I had to ask for a few more pictures than what he had posted (one only) before I was comfortable with what he had but it turned out to be a good purchase.  On the other hand I bought two hybrids from another individual with great feedback.  They turned out to be counterfeit, but by paying with PayPal I was protected and got my money back.  Just make sure that you don't use a debit card for an eBay purchase or you have no protection on what you buy. My driver came from Rock Bottom Golf through eBay and that was truly a great transaction.
