Today I hit even par for the first time!!!

I had a great round today, three bogies and three birdies for a 72. This is the first time I hit in the seventies in this course (my previous best round here was an 81). My game looks like its coming together, a few weeks ago I shoot 74 and now this... I'm happy! Of course, at least until the next time I play and hit a 92 a1_smile.gif

Congrats.  I'm searching to break 90 consistently right now, but it's nice to hear someone else is having some luck.

Well done!  (I think somebody now needs to revise their username title - or whatever that line is called) :)  "Halcon - Struggling to break par!"

I'm sort of in the same boat as you (just at a slightly lower level ... 77, 78 instead of 74,72) in that I've had a couple of pretty solid rounds my last two times out and feel like I'm close to jumping up a notch.

Keep it up!

Congrats I hope to be joining you this year. Here in Michigan though so its not looking like a round anytime soon.

Pretty impressive.  You shot your course personal best, broke 80 for the first time on the course, and shot even par for the first time ever.  All three of those are cause for celebration, and you did all three in one day!  Awesome.

Great round!

What seemed to be different about this round? Great putting? More fairways hit? Something else?

That's great!  I hope you saved the scorecard.  I had the scorecard for my first even par round framed and backed.  It is hanging in my office.  It's fun to look at it from time to time (with the date on the card), and realize how long it has been, and also how little I've improved since then.  :)

Haha!, No, I think I'll keep it... It's still uncommon for me to break 80.

I also had three birdies (ties my personal best), 11 fairways, 11 GIR, 28 putts and 2/3 sand saves; all of those stats, I'm pretty sure are personal records :-).

I was driving the ball pretty well, not too long but always in a playable position. But i think the biggest difference was my putter, which was lights out! I was getting gimmies even from 60 feet. The only putt I missed was in 17th, a short 6 footer for par, after my chip shot hit the flag :-( (it would it be a 71!).

Oh, and some (or a lot, according to my playing partners) of luck. The 14th hole is a short par 3 (140 yds) with carry over water. I hit my tee shot fat, but the ball still cleared the water and found the green. I even won three greenies with that shot!

First thing I did after finishing was take a picture of the scorecard (and I sent it to my brother, you know, brotherly "love" :-D). And man, I'm still high! Don't bring me down! :-)

Congrats!!! Going from a career best low of 81 to shooting even par 72 is great!

I'm still trying to break 80 for the first time. I've hit the magic 8-0 five separate times, but can't seem to get into the 70's.

At least I know it's attainable. Nice work.

You are the man!  Congrats!

Congrats man, I shot under par a couple times two years ago. I had a 10 year stretch betwen par or better rounds and it was such a good feeling doing it again. I thought I was even par when in fact I was -1 and it made it just that much better. keep practicing and go do it again!

Congrats!! I can't wait to join this club!
