  1. @FalbertHere's some experience, for what it may be worth, I'm 75 (this month) and have suffered injuries periodically due to RA incl. knee replacement in March. For about 4 years I tried to find the right combo for me. I would say Yes go with hybrids and pay close attention to shafts flex, weight and launch characteristics. My Fli-Hi's are my go to clubs for the longer 2nd shots. As @Montymau said, easy to hit. But as all said...Please go find a shop where you can hit the clubs you have your eye on. Also, I found there's a lot of variation within shafts-some "Senior" a little stiffer or a little more flexible, or have different flex points. My irons are a Regular but less stiff than normal. Best of luck in your search, -Marv
  2. Most everyone here will say Oh you must get fitted. To answer your question though: The Callaway clubs are an ultra game improvement club (according to the Maltby Playability Factor), and should be easier to hit than the Adams. The real test will be when you try them out, hopefully with a Trackman or some such technology, and how you hit them and how they feel to you. Best, -Marv
  3. I was always interested that she and Scalia were close friends despite their differences in philosophy. We should respect intellectual honesty and openness such as that, I think. Best, -Marv
  4. All true and good advice, based on my own experiences. Your doctor will prescribe PT. I have OA and RA. Had knee replacement March 2. I do the pre- and post-surgery PT hamstring stretch exercises every day. Plus my recumbent exercise bike. It's all good for you! Best. -Marv
  5. I am a slow swinger. I like the feel of SuperSoft and generally get good distance. The ProVIx also. Go figure. Best, -Marv
  6. JPX FLI-HI 4 hybrid iron replacement. Drives aren't so long anymore, and this great club saves the 2nd shot many times for me. Best, -Marv
  7. The eagle...And it came late in life. Since then I've had the bunker hole-outs but not another eagle. Had a hole-in-one years ago and not another since. I wonder if chaos theory is at work here and if I'm due another. Best, -Marv
  8. I'd go hit a few with a fitter or a golf pro. I like the idea of a 5FW, personally. But I have a friend who hits his 4HY farther than I can hit my 5FW. And in truth my Miz Fli-Hi's are probably better for me than the FW. Anyway, go hit a few, realize you are probably better at golf than you think and get the most club you and a fitter think you can handle. Otherwise, can I have the gift certificate? Best, -Marv
  9. I was just thinking...The Lowest Score Wins, someone said. A person who can hit fairways with a long driver shot has a tremendous advantage. On the other hand, if a person can score well using a snow shovel. does it matter? Yes, yes, it does. A long soaring golf shot, well-struck, touches something in the human soul. So, I for one keep trying to achieve that even as an old man. Best, -Shivas Irons
  10. No hip replaced but had a knee replacement March 2. COVID hit and physical therapy was shut down. I had no PT except the usual 2-week home health. So, I did the PT stretching exercises on my own. I use an exercise bike as well. Was on the range before 90 days and back at golf. MUCH MUCH BETTER. Balance was the biggest benefit for me. My HI has gone down about a stroke each month. Long story short: I suffered for a long time. The surgery and follow-up wasn't a pillow fight, but my pain was minimal when I compare it. I'm 75 next month. At the range 2 x week and on the course every Saturday. My good friend had hip replacement 2 yrs ago; his story is similar. You can do it! Best, -Marv
  11. Me too. Had to get two to organize 4 bags and various clubs and junk. They really made everything much better organized. Best, -Marv

  13. This is correct. Answer to OP is "Yes". Get the one that is wide in the back side. Best, -Marv
  14. I agree with all that has been said about fitting. BUT sometimes, for some people there is a good golf pro who can give some lessons and point a golfer in the right direction in clubs and shafts. It's a plain old fashion alternative. Best, -Marv
