Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I’m disappointed that the US Open is not a true US Open this week. I understand the weather has a lot to do with it, but I also feel the USGA has given in a little bit to the players demands of making the setup easier.

I'm right there with you. Part of me wishes the USGA had said "You don't like playing for $12M? Then piss off. There are thousands who have tried to take your place. We've made some mistakes, yes, but not nearly as many as you think and we're trying to create a difficult test, not a PGA Tour course setup. Suck it up and play golf, or don't. We don't very much care."

It’s a birdie fest at the US Open. Players got their wish. They got a much easier Open.

they hired Jason Gore as the first-ever player relations director.

Whoever Jason Gore is, the dude earned his pay check. The article above is full of gushing player praise for Pebble this week.

Koepka par

Woodland par

Advantage woodland on the way to the park five sixth

Koepka at seven leaves a birdie try

Woodland drove at six in the fairway, in layup territory.

Rose abaft the bunkers on six

Koepka misses seven birdie try

Rose and Woodland should birdie six

No koepka birdie on Six and seven will be telling.

Woodland gets ball on the pitch, no birdie for you

Koepka will get at least a bogey or shoot a miracle at 8

Woodland in pot bunker looking at bogey.

Rose with a birdie try

Koepka will par. That could win him the cup

Woodland should par 7 after great recovery.

Koepka loses one at 8.

Rose misses birdie 12 footer goes by

That was Tiger's lowest single-round score in the U.S. Open in 10 years. Pretty wild coming after 4 bogeys in his first 6 holes and 54 holes of bleh.

Hard to believe the first 6 holes cost him all week. Scored +3 on them. Compare that to Woodland and Koepka who played them in -10.

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
