  1. 1. How many wedges do you carry?

    • 0 - What's a wedge?
      0
    • 1 - I have my trusty Niblick and that's all I need.
      0
    • 2 - Doesn't matter which two, but you'd think it would be PW and SW
      4
    • 3 - Very common set up through the 80's and 90's.
      11
    • 4 - Its good to have options
      20
    • 5 - More options or is it because your PW is so delofted you had to stick in another gap wedge?
      3
    • 6 or more - If you answer this, you'd better explain why.

Three. Pitching wedge at 48, sand wedge 56, lob wedge 60. I'd have a 52 and a 64 in there as well, if I had space in my bag. It never hurts to have too many wedges.

(On the flip side, Seve carried only one, and he was one of the best ever.)

I have lots of wedges..and like to try as many different ones as I can, my short game is the one thing I'm actually good at..well comparred to everything else; (Of course I don't carry all of these)

Tommy Armour Forged Silverscott PW
Callaway 2006 Big Bertha PW
Cleveland Hibore 50 degree
Taylormade Rac 52 degree gap wedge
Golder Bear 56 degree Bear Trapper
Giga Golf 58 degree KC2
Cleveland CG10 60 degree
Giga Golf 62 degree KC2 high lob wedge

I'd like to try out the cleveland 588, 54 degree too

As for ones I usually carry;

Tommy Armour Silver Scott PW
Taylor Made Rac 52 degree
Cleveland CG10 60 degree

-Adam J.

....just sold my old irons, along with the GW, so now I carry PW (47 degree) along with a 56 and 60 Vokey. Made that decision easy!

PW - Mizuno MP 37 (48*)
GW - Mizuno MP-R (52*)
SW - Mizuno MP-R (56*)
sometimes LW - Tommy Armour R-91 (60*)

Thinking about adding another 60* wedge to my bag and taking out the 3 iron, as I never use it and my current is from my days as a junior golfer

I recently dumped my 3I (which I hit like crap, hurts my hands) and also dropped the 5W and replaced them with the 52° and an 18° hybrid.

Like someone already mentioned, I like to have options around the green, I feel like you can't have too many. My ISI-K PW is for full swings, 90-100 yards, and the others are for everything else inside 100 yards.

I have been contemplating taking the 60 degree out of the bag, as it usually only causes me headaches and getting a 56* sand wedge (want to hit the cleveland and vokey).

anyone that carries a 2 iron or even 3 iron now and has more than 5 degrees gap between their PW and SW is just hurting themselves. I did the math on how many shots I hit with my 3 iron and 2 iron compared to 110-120 yards and it was an easy decision. Got a hybrid to cover the other two and stepped up my lofts to have 4 wedges...

60 54 50 46

9 iron is 42
8 38
7 34
6 30
5 26
4 22

there are just too many shots in between 125 and 100 yards that you can't dial down the PW that much without losing accuracy and you need to pinpoint more with a PW than with a 3 iron.

I carry 4 wedges right now

TA5 PW (45)
588 GW (51)
CG10 or 588 SW (56)
CG10 LW (60)

My PW is strong so I really need the gap wedge. I never chip with my PW so my 51 is a very useful club for me around the green too. I added the 60 degree this year. I'm going to swap it out for a different 60 with less bounce. Perhaps go back to my 588 gunmetal. I agree, at least for me, that carrying an extra wedge is more beneficial than, say a 3 iron.

I carry three wedges:

48 - Callaway Forged +
54 - Callaway X-Tour
60 - Callaway X-Tour PM

This works out pretty well for me, a 48-53-58 would probably work about as well.

Yeah.... it's been discussed

a lot . Anyways, I currently carry 4. See sig.

I have 4 but usually only carry 3 of them. My Pitching Wedge, a 53 degree and a 56 degree (SW). I will sometimes change out the 56 for my 60 degree if I am playing a course with no sand traps.

Sorry, I thought of something to be discussed and didn't see one for awhile.

I have 4, although I don't really count my PW as a wedge because I use it more like a 10 iron. Can't really do anything you would normally do with a wedge.
