He averages 78 to 82, had never shot even par, and always rakes away tricky 3 and 4 footers.  I wanted to feel good for him but I couldn't, knowing he did not putt out everything.  And when you don't have to make the return putt you can safely charge the hole with your first putt.  So poor Chad never got the full enthusiasm I could have, and wanted, to give him.

So... he averages 78 to 82 but gives himself putts. Meaning his "80" is actually 85.

He cheats his way to a par round and you want to praise him, but can't? Why? What has he done to deserve anything other than contempt?

He didn't have a par round. He probably just scraped in a score in the high 70s. No need for you to feel bad.

When these people rake away a 3 footer that misses, are you saying "5 for you?" or something? Let him say "No, 4." and then explain how a missed putt is actually a made putt. You might find that his "average" score increases and he is not regarded as a cheat by people who otherwise like him.

Then they should have the decency to ask! It’s BS!

If you used a thread title that told the reader what it was about the moderators would not need to change it.

I guess what’s more interesting is that someone changed the topic of my post!  Apparently their is no integrity there as well. The title was “The Great Debate today...”

Who does this?

I changed it. Your title sucked and was not descriptive at all. Google and site search matter.

Bingo.

Choose better titles.

I love guys that fudge their "vanity" handicaps because they are easier to beat. Much better than those guys that play 4 times a week yet only have 4 rounds posted.

I play quite a bit by myself but all those times are practice rounds and it's extremely rare I play 18 holes alone. When I play with my group, it's match play so we do give the occasional gimmee. I promise you though, none of the guys in my group would give anything that might be missed, and birdies and eagles have to be putted out regardless of length. Hell the guy I was playing the other day made me mark a putt so short that my quarter fell in the hole! 😜

Yep! Don't get all bent out of shape about it. Why do they need your permission? It's not your website. I've had it happen to me when I put up a title that I thought would be mysterious and attract attention. I was wrong.

As far as the original point of the thread goes... Haters gonna hate, cheaters gonna cheat! They're not only fooling others, they are fooling themselves!

I love playing against vanity 'cappers, especially the ones who scoop up 3' putts. Love them in match play. I'll give those putts, then make them putt in the last part of the round and watch the bogeys and dbs rack up.

Iacas does own this site....never good to tell the owner to "not get bent out of shape".

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
