Waylon Jennings Greatest Hits, especially the following:

"She's a good hearted woman in love with a good timing man"---about my wife, and we have been married 30 years!

"I have always been CRAZY; it keeps me from going insane."---I must be crazy to keep on playing golf, and never, ever feel that I have mastered it.

Now that's some good music!! "I've always been crazy" is what I have for my ringer on my cell. Waylon is my 1# country singer.

I like lots of music though and I'm listening to Metallica on VH-1 at the moment.

Bob Seeger---"In Your Time". God, that song is something---it is about the Final Days. If you know what Nostradamus and the Book of Revelations say, the verses in his song about "savage storms on your Eastern shore", etc. will send shivers down your spine.

    • Day 316: mirror work for a while. Working on getting my hips more open and my hands down faster in the downswing.
    • My short game is no longer a dumpster fire. It’s bordering on being the best part of my game at this point. I still need to stay out of the bunkers but I’m starting to hit shots to makeable distances (if only I could putt). I’ve pretty much gotten the three releases down. My feels for the releases: Drive the handle forward. I haven’t used this one too much lately. Left hand pulls the club. This is my standard motion. Right hand pushes the club. I use this occasionally for flop shots. I’m still in the process of learning how the ball reacts on the green with different shots so there’s plenty of room for improvement. The contact is clean so I’ll be able to dial it in with experience. The most important thing is to slow my tempo down. Way down. I need to bring the club back slowly so that momentum doesn’t put the clubhead in weird places. Not trying to create lag around the greens. Full swing has kind of fallen off but I haven’t practiced much lately. I’ll probably try to get some time in before the Ohio outing.
    • Day 146: 5/21/24 Putting through gates for distance control and chipping practice indoors.
    • For general practice, this ratio is what I'd recommend: Making real changes in the golf swing is hard for everybody. Make sure you're practicing properly. A good topic on that subject is here: I have limited time for practice, too. I also find I enjoy doing full swing work more than anything else so that's what I always end up spending most of my time doing. Lately I have found that just doing some basic short game motions in my office is enough for me to improve my short game and that's kind of opened up a new area of practice for me because it literally takes a few minutes out of my day. Now if I can figure out how to practice my putting inside of 10' I might actually be decent at this game. Welcome to TST.
    • day 68. Technique work into the net. Lots of rehearsal and slow swings with a ball trying to understand how to achieve a flat wrist at impact. 🤷‍♂️
