I thought Ganne was gonna double there. Nice bogey. I like her demeanor. She looks like she’s really enjoying herself out there and plays fast.

Why are certain parts of the green darker? Or is it something to do with the camera.

There are no ads. Just shot after shot after shot. This is amazeballs.

Seeing launch monitors more often at LPGA events.

I very much identified with that pitch shank out of the rough Ganne hit yesterday.

Will be interesting to see if there are ads on NBC's national broadcast.

Saw forecasts of strong winds but seems pretty calm.

Not a huge fan of Lexi, but she is playing really well. If she wins this, the winners on the LPGA this year are all pretty crazy. It’s been a fun year.

Unbelievably poor playing by Lexi. Just not cut out for high stress play. You can’t chunk a simple chip, choke a 109yd  wedge shot at that level.

I may be in the minority but her caddie should have stepped in on 18. 2 holes back she claimed to hit it perfect and came up short. He has to tell her go up a club get on the damn green. Get to the playoff.

but yes @Vinsk she did collapse and had some rather poor putting.

Brutal collapse. Just brutal. Lexi was cruising and looked in complete control for 8 holes. And then she couldn’t do anything right. Coming up short on 18 in the front bunker is such a huge mistake. Just need to get it on the green and 2 putt for the playoff.  And then the putt to tie coming up short... yeesh.

Totally agree.  I actually feel bad for her.  She really needs some therapy time; I'm being honest.  I recall her actually tearing up during the last few holes of a tournament a year or two ago because she had the yips while putting and chipping (the microphone caught her saying this to her caddie); the stress of expectations has gotten to her.  Why would your loved ones say its ok to turn pro at 15 is still a mystery to me.

Her chipping and putting (from short distance) is very suspect and may be more than just a mechanical issue behind it.  Again, I hope this young lady gets some help; she refused interviews after today's collapse at The Olympic Club.  I wish her well.

It was heart wrenching to watch. It made for some powerful drama. I hope she bounces back.

All in all, I found the tournament really engaging. I'm glad I watched.

She must be able to play a little under stress. I mean, she has won a major. ... I think she was like the second youngest at the time to do so.

I agree, however, about the chip and the wedge shot. Watching it happen, I thought both shots would be better. I don't think her caddie did her any favors. He kept saying "Make sure you leave it below the hole." ... "Make sure you leave it below the hole." ... Well, she left them below the hole.

I've already heard people say this ranks up there with Greg Norman's meltdown at the Masters or Phil's at Winged Foot. What do you think? As I was watching I didn't feel as much like she collapsed but more like she just couldn't close out.

Those wins at young ages are just that. Some continue to mature and can continue to perform in big venues. Some just can’t. It’s not insulting or ripping her, she just doesn’t have it. Her behavior was confusing. Smiling and chatting with her caddie despite being in the middle of a collapse.

I think golf is the most difficult and stressful of sports I watch. I’d say it was worse than Norman’s as she had a 5 shot lead with 9 to play right? In her post round limited interview she said, ‘ I don’t think I hit any poor shots…just some bad breaks …that’s golf.’ Huh? She hit quite a few poor shots including awful putts that defined the collapse. So she’s definitely just a little scattered. She managed to get a five shot lead during the final round of the US Open so something is definitely there. Gotta be hard to have that happen.

    • Yeah - I'll keep an eye on that - I've been across the line for about forever, so I assume that I want to overexaggerate the laid off bit to get it closer to square when I take a real swipe at the ball.
    • Those are better. Watch where the shaft points at the top, too. Bit over-rolled there (laid off).
    • First swings at after a 2.5 month forced hiatus. No surgery in the forecast at the moment! Doc said okay to start easing in gently over a few weeks. The effort is barely 30% here but felt solid.  I think my swing changed a few years ago after my right ankle injury (weight shift profile). I wonder if this may bring about another change. I certainly won't pivot on to the knee (left) aggressively any time soon, if ever. Could even be a good thing..heh.
