I hit the CB at Demo Days. I had no idea they were making muscles. This may be the mixed set of the century. Those MB's are beautiful. RAC/T-Zoid looking, but beautiful.

I love what cobra is doing..Theyre drivers are selling like hotcakes now--and their irons look rediculously awesome...Theyr'e Research and development is top notch

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

Cobra has emerged as a powerhouse... used to be looked at as a "lower" Titleist but man they are on the top tier now. I might give the MBs a shot.

Those irons look amazing, are they already out? if so how long have they been out for?

They have been out for at least a couple of weeks. I saw them in a local golf store and was just as amazed as everyone else seems to be. They look great at setup. I am going to hit them at my club's demo day later this month, but they will be hard pressed to beat out my mizunos.

Heres my source--scroll down to Speed LD--theyre the number 1 selling driver in the UK

From the article:

The Cobra Speed LD was the #1 selling driver in the UK for the majority of 2007*,

What is that asterisk for? I couldn't find the explanation anywhere.

Let's stay on point people. This is about these sexy looking irons. No hate allowed in here. This post is very Zen.

I talked to the local Titleist/Cobra rep. The cavity backs are out. The MB are won't be in my area until the end of the month. I'm going to start saving my beans. A 4-GW set may be heaven.

I *almost* pulled the trigger on the old Cobra CB's but went to MP-32's.

They look almost identical to the Taylormade blades. Anyone know, who besides Ogilvy, is using them?

Uhm, that's not a good source. First off, it's got an asterisk. Second, it's the UK (a small country - so who cares if it's flying off the shelves there, it may be quite different elsewhere in countries with larger populations). Third, it's LAST YEAR's model.

Agree with the posts above: back on topic - new Cobra irons.

You could make the argument that they look like Mizuno T-Zoid Pro IIs more than anything. My brother has had them for years and almost hit the grooves out of them.

I like his Mizunos, but they almost too soft (muddy feeling). I think they’re 1025 steel with a soft nickel chrome. The Cobras are 1020 (a little softer) with a little harder chrome. The CB’s at demo days felt softer than Mizunos, but more crisp. So think of a club softer than a Mizzy, but with a crisper sound and feel.

Usually you can tell how well a club is selling by seeing how many people have it. Also, chances are if it would be flying off the shelves in one country it would do the same in another.

Yes back on topic... the new irons

    • Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

    • Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
