My first time on a course was the day of my youngest brothers wedding(last September) and I shot a 114.

Unfortunately that course was in Mass and gave me a false sense of security since it took me 3 months to reach that score on my home course.

I broke 100, but cheated like crazy. Where's the option for that?

123 but that was off the Yellow tees. Broke my first 100 off the white tees in December, 2003 - scored 95, off 26 handicap, and won the Monthly Medal.
I was cut two shots the following day.

I can't remember exactly, but it was over 100, probably between 100-110. I never shot over 100 again as I got hooked and decided to get serious the next time. What can I say I am overly competitive. It took the next 5 years to get to single digits and the next 6 years after that to get to scratch.

My first 18 was a 106 but i was playing a lot of nines before it, but my first nine i shot a 120, and that was a year ago. Now I shoot 42-45 on nine I just would practice every day and i got drastically better.

I played my first 18 about a month ago, on Keesler AFB. I used rental clubs, and wore blue jeans and an Air Force windbreaker. I shot a 128. I've played three times a week since then, and just got back home today, and will be playing tomorrow :)

127 at a local muni. which was about 3 months ago. Second time I went back (last weekend), shot a 117, so at least I can say I'm getting better.

Alright folks there has been too much talk of breaking pars lately so here is my questions for everyone so please be honest.

How would I even know??? That was more than 40 years ago. I couldn't even tell you what course it might have been on. Been a lot of water under the Hogan Bridge since then.

2 years ago on Good Friday. my father took me out without a lesson and his old X-16's. he said just swing. it'll be good for you once you learn how to play.

I shot a TERRIBLE...and I do mean TERRIBLE 129 at a local municipal
I can say that I did not get a lesson or touch a club again till I seriously decided to pursue this crazy game last year the 1st weekend of May...where I went out...and thru the course of a 7 hour round..I shot a 106
this year I went back to the same course and shot an 82 which i thought was awesome b/c it shows major improvement in a year's time.

118, it was horrible. I think I lost a half dozen balls or so as well.

4 years ago this June I shot a still course record 142 at St. Andrews in West Chicago, not to be outdone by my 32 year old cousin last year at Bloomingdale Golf Course with what I think has to be the world record, never been heard of 183 (and this was after spending 3 months and 6 training sessions at a range...yes, he may be a doctor, but in golf, that only means he can pick up the tab)... :)

It would likely have been a lot higher than what was on my card. I started when I was a kid and I'm sure we cheated. We took mulligans, didn't count whiffs and used foot wedges. That didn't even take into consideration our poor counting skills.
