      Yes, it can. The rough is a fifth of a shot different on the PGA Tour (worth about 60+ yards of distance), and similar to a low single digit handicapper.

      I played from 7-12 years old as part of my school's co-curricular activity. I am now 23 and have recently decided to pick up golf again. I have watched a couple of videos on achieving a rotary swing, particularly on using the ground to open my hips on the downswing. However, it seems like i am unable to achieve it. I still see alot of early extension (my right arms are fully extended before i hit the ball), and i dont have much rotation of my hips and chest on the downswing. My right heel also lifts off the ground very early. I also notice that sometimes my club becomes quite steep on the downswing. Was wondering if you'd be so kind to share some tips or drills or any things which i can correct in my swing. I would really appreciate it Videos:

      Used your own information, wasn't able to google earth it in detail, so I eyeballed the best I could, also name "Fairway" the sum of fairway + rough as "Still have shot to the green".   After doing this for a long time you found out that fairway or rough is almost the same thing for the numbers when you want to compare among hitting a Driver, wood or an Iron off the tee. The scoring averages are going to be a little higher but is not going to make a difference on club selection.  Exceptions are when the fairway width differ between distances and the rough is really penal.  Don't worry, I'll re-run the numbers with the exact ones.
