Hi all,

i just had a session on a trackman.

basically i did it because i wanted to have a distance chart this is what i came up with.

Do you all use this as well?

this is a 15 shot average.

Irons: Mizuno MP 59 3 / PW KBS Tour stiff shaft ( Golf Pride Niion )
Wedges: Taylormade ATV Wedges 52 and 58 ( Golf Pride Niion )
putter: Taylormade ghost series 770 35 inch ( Super Stroke slim 3.0 )
Balls: Taylormade TP 5

I've never done that on trackman per se, but I know my distances. Having that information would be just a baseline, as I almost never hit a full shot with my wedges, and I find myself hitting fewer and fewer full shots with my other clubs as well. For example, I can hit a 7 iron 200 yards if I really need to, but I am much more accurate hitting a 6 iron, or if certain conditions exist, maybe even a 5 or even a 4 iron.

I became a much better player when I learned to play different shots in different situations instead of just always hitting a full shot regardless.

I hardly hit full wedges myself but it is good to know where your max distance is and take off length as you adjust…

We have similar numbers. Im guessing a 100-105 swing speed.

Couple of thought. First, I normally update my distance chart for each season just like you, but I try to average numbers over two different sessions. This seems to help me get a more realistic number.

Secondly, like others, I try to focus on distance control more than absolute distance with PW and SW. So,  I've included full and half swing distances for both PW and SW in my distance chart. This seems to help me focus better on club selection.

I do the same every year or two.  I include 1/2 swing distances for all irons, and even 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 for my wedges.  I sort by distance, print the chart, and put it in my scorecard holder/wallet so it sits behind my score card. I even put some other things, like aim point rules, carry/roll for chips with different clubs, etc.

I have a baseline that has been pretty stable for a while. Pending temperature, how I feel swinging, I will adjust. One day, I was puring every shot, and must have been delivering slightly better launch conditions because every club was about half a club longer than my baseline. There are some days when shots just come up short. I just get a feel for how things are going in the first 3-4 holes then adjust for the rest of the round.

Every now and then I use the trackman and hit 2 or 3 balls per club to make sure I am hitting my distances. I have a good idea on how each club plays from the course, but I like to verify.
