Limiting Bounce Back When Hitting Balls Into a Net

I recently got a net setup in my garage and when I hit real golf balls into it the majority of the time they are bouncing back off the net pretty hard and that usually results in the ball bouncing across the concrete slamming into the garage door. Has anyone had any luck limiting this when hitting under a harder surface where the ball will bounce more? 

Here's a photo for reference. The foam mats and sheets don't seem to do a whole lot. Wondering if the net is just too tight or something.

I have a net from "The Net Return" and the balls tend to hit the net, fall down, and sometimes roll back a little.  For reference, I'm close enough to the net that I'm not comfortable hitting a driver or fairway wood, as I think it'd affect my follow through.  On rare occasion I hit a ball really thin and it hits the net and rolls back with enough force to get up over the base of my mat.

I really need to do a writeup of what I have for my indoor practice room, in hopes it can help you and others with similar questions.  @klineka did a good showing of their setup a week or so ago.

You have to dampen where they land and make sure the net is loose enough to not trampoline them back. I usually let the net hang loosely on the ground and put something to catch them in. Lately I’ve used a plastic tub I got from Ace Hardware. It’s about 18” x 24”. I put a blanket or foam mat in it to dampen the balls when they land. The net sits on top of it. Oh not a bad idea, think I might try this! This could also double as a tool to confirm you're hitting your target line haha

My net has netting that drapes down freely and there’s a good bit of it on the ground. When a ball hits it, the netting absorbs the energy of the ball without transferring it back to the ball. Most of the time the ball stays trapped in there, but sometimes it rolls back towards my direction.

The net I built for myself is fastened only across the top, so, when balls hit it, no matter how fast/hard, the entire net moves, absorbs all the energy, and they just drop.

You could try and mount a thick comforter behind the net as well. It should absorb any ball with little to no bounce back. But yes, slack in the net is preferred to prevent a possible "Testicular Event"....

You can place something under the front of that mat so when a ball drops down it bounces backwards into the net. Maybe a pool noodle. Topped balls will destroy that pool noodle though. "A friend" told me that... Also, I don't know how many balls you plan on hitting, but think about getting a pre-net to hang in front of the main net. I blew a hole through mine in less than a year. My replacement net has lasted over 3 years using small nets hanging in front.
