I had a friend who ran guest services at Caesars Palace. She says Tiger was an absolute pain. Did not believe he should pay for ANYTHING and never tips. Was rude to staff and generally an all round dick head.

Garbage.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Garbage.

I have to agree with @Shorty. It's pure hearsay. Unless someone has a first hand experience, one should be very cautious of believing anything others say.

i don't think you could single just one guy out and say he's the biggest jerk on tour...or because he was a jerk to you, he's a jerk in general.

like anybody, they're probably the nicest to the people they know personally, and are nice to them in return. I would think especially on the field of play, they would have to be somewhat of a jerk in nature as a protective shield. golf is the only sport where you can literally participate within inches of the fans, which gives them the opportunity to harm them. pink, purple, and white pants and shirts have probably been suggested by the pros respective sports psychologists to be worn to have a calming effect on those who observe them, unless, of course, you are tiger who wears red because he has a massive security detail to have his back.

Tiger WOods.  I played in a pro-am with him in Ohio.  I told him I had a sister to set him up with.  He told me that he doesn't date sistas.

I shot some commercials with Tiger and the thing about him is that he is constantly bombarded with people who want things from him. Jerry Seinfeld is the same way. They have to have their guard up and , the fact is, Tiger is a slightly maladjusted man having been trained like a thoroughbred his whole life--he has lived in a bubble and doesn't know what real life or real relationships are like. I played a pro am with Fuzzy--we was hilarious!  Drinking and smoking and giving us crap all day and still hitting shots on a rope.  Our other partner was Ken Stadler  who was as nice as could be--very quiet but super nice--biggest forearms I ever saw.

I had a caddy who was a tour caddy for a long time who gave me loads of dirt on players--some are huge pot smokers--people who would surprise you...some caddies are the tour dealers...Daly used to give out wads of cash in the parking lots to fans and bet on everything.  I wrote ads for Jack Nicklaus--he's a bit of a dick but some explanation as Tiger.  Here's a story....Arnold & Jack were meeting somewhere to shoot a commercial. Jack shows up in a new plane--the exact same new plane Arnold just bought. Arnold got very annoyed and said to someone on the set--that f-ing guy--no matter what I do he does it right after me..copies me every time...  Arnold doesn't love Jack--or at least didn't back then.  Another funny story was --why did Duval implode--apparently he was engaged to Norman's daughter and she dumped him--it did his head in and he never recovered--that's what this caddy said anyway...I have heard Norman is an unpleasant man but may have changed his ways...Langer is just stiff and boring.  I hope Bubba's cool ...but I feel like he might not be based on his demeanor at the PGA...

It wasn't Duval,it was Garcia.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you mean Craig Stadler and not Ken Stadler,Craig definitely has popeye arms.

Yes! Craig, not Ken, my bad.

He said it was Duval...I asked specifically who Duval blew up and he was sure it was all about a girl...

rumors are rumors though...

Garcia was ****ed up bigtime when Norman's daughter dumped him.He admitted it on Feherty's show.

I have no experience of a pro being a dick at any of the tournaments I've been at.The exact opposite I would say but I reckon it would get hard for the top guys to maintain the"nice guy"facade 24/7.

Jack even has a half lemonade half iced tea.-You know an ARNOLD PALMER.

Actually being a jerk to someone that doesn't deserve it is the exact description of a jerk. Only jerks wouldn't understand that.

I don't think that you have to have first hand experience of someone being a dick in order for it to be true.  I have a very, very good, honorable friend, dang good golfer at one point in time as well who used to bartend in an upscale restaurant on the Las Vegas strip.  Many celebrities came in there to dine.  Some of those celebrities were Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and Tiger Woods. He didn't say anything bad about them, but he did say that they treated the wait staff poorly, and they didn't tip (on bills that were approaching $20K).  This is a common and known thing along the Las Vegas strip for those that work or worked there (I did, I worked for a casino for a few years).  I do have first hand knowledge of some other instances of sports figures/celebrities.

But then there's guys who impress you.....Zach Johnson was really cool at the Open a few years ago at Pebble...Angel Cabrera was just awesome...Jim Furyk, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Lee Westwood....all these guys were pretty stand up and cool when I've been up close with them the last few years.

I met Zach two or three years ago after the Wells Fargo.  He had finished his Sunday round and was at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar just watching the end of the tournament before catching his flight.  No one in the place recognized him, so I just walked over and sat down and chatted with him for a bit.  He could not have been more nice and just seemed like a really genuine guy.  That encounter made me a fan of his.

I've talked with Ben Martin a few times (been to his house) and he is also a very nice guy.  Quiet, but very respectful.

As far as jerks go, the first one that came to my mind was Bubba, even though I like the way he plays.

I have not seen a 50/50 from the Golden Bear brand.  I have only seen ( and tried) these:

The biggest jerks on tour are the fans who are constantly SCREAMING at the top of their lungs IN THE HOLE and other assorted things like that. Or who yell dumb things at the players.

As for the golfers, I'd have to say the jerks are Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Bubba Watson (at times -- he's sort of like Jekyll and Hyde) .... not sure who else.

Yeah I honestly wish they would start doing something about this. It has really gotten out of hand since I took my decade long sabbatical from golf.

    • Day 203 (21 Nov 24) - Weekly nine hole round with my good friend.  Played it as a 7 club challenge (7w, 5h, 7i, 9i, GW, LW, putter).  As we were playing up a set of tees, no super loss of distance off the tee.  Had some good looks at birdie, failed to convert.  These sessions with fewer clubs really helps with course management.
    • Tell me about it - shouldn’t have second guessed…
    • My wife is going to drag me to see Wicked.   She is very excited to see it.   We saw the musical while in Chicago and thought it was very good.  I'm not usually a fan of musicals but I'm looking forward to seeing this.   Gladiator 2 does look good.   I'm going to go back and watch the original Gladiator before going to the theater.
    • MSN Glover expressed his dissatisfaction with what he termed as 'cool kid meetings' between Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay, Tiger Woods and other high-profile golfers. "I think it's terrible," he stated. "And then hiding behind pace of play, I think, challenges our intelligence. They think we're stupid.     "Don't cut fields because it's a pace of play issue. Tell us to play faster, or just say you're trying to appease six guys and make them happy so they don't go somewhere else and play golf." Fitzpatrick joined the conversation on X (formerly Twitter), with the 30-year-old echoing Glover's sentiments regarding the PGA Tour changes. "He's so right," Fitzpatrick posted. "Pathetic that pace of play is spoken about every year and nothing ever gets done."     I agree. Instead of  penalizing  players for  turtle  play they appease the  slow jerks  by  cutting the  fields. They will play even slower  knowing they will NEVER be  penalized.
    • I've been Playing Golf for: 3 years  My current handicap index or average score is: 1.5 My typical ball flight is: neutral /slight draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: hook   Looking for some advice please folks. Started golfing three years ago and got hooked. Had some early lessons and was a slicer etc.  I used to have a severe inside takeaway and through working hard to fix as ever (this game…) it’s now gone too far the other way where I take it back way outside.  i think it looks really bad and have gotten a lesson last year where we tried to competely reset the swing and it ruined things for months as I couldn’t get it to stick (my fault).    anyway do I need to fix this? I hit it reasonably solid but don’t know what else I’m looking at or need to clean up. All opinions welcomed!  Videos:
