It would be better to consider shots below course index, not par or gross number. A 58 on a 76.0 index course is a lot better than the same score in a 70.0 index course. Also you can adjust it with the playing conditions of the day like they do with the world handicap system.

Big supporter of bryson, but he scored an amazing number in easy course conditions (always comparing it with regular PGA tour conditions)

Per GHIN it's 76.0/142.

He still shot 8.75 strokes under the field average Sunday

Bryson can be annoying, but the sport of golf is more interesting when he is playing well.

Glad to see him regain his form and especially now that he is working with Dana Dahlquist. Dana teaches out of my home course in Long Beach, and is a good guy and a solid instructor. It's great to see Bryson have success under his coaching.

I've been saying this for years.

There are many things that Bryson does that I simply can't defend. Like most humans he's clearly flawed.

I agree, golf is more interesting with him in playing well.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Looks like he switched to same driver I use too. Interesting him trying out a smaller company like Krank.

Pretty sure he's been using them for awhile with his long drive stuff, no?

No he was using cobra before in long drive. I think he recently went to Krank from my understanding.

    • I had to get my left labrum reconstructed after my second major dislocation a few years back. Recovery for me was 5 months until I could swing. I played at 6 months though infrequently. Maybe 8-9 months didn't feel dicey. Then I had winter and the next season... Wow. I hadn't known how much worse my mechanics were than they could be because I was subconsciously tightening my front should to protect it. Even before the second dislocation it was loose and sloppy. Who knew tightening up and good golf mechanics didn't go great together 😀 I don't know what surgery you're getting, but maybe a potential bright spot for you?
    • Shorter length shaft, more loft… weight shouldn’t have anything to do with it as a fw head weighs more than a driver head.  More backspin could actually hurt because sidespin is part of that.  Something lower spinning will usually go straighter.  If you’re trying to “work the ball” then you want spin.
