These are the numbers I Hope for and get on an average well struck ball. That doesn't happen all the time though lol.

DR- 9.5 degrees....... 280.... My driver average counting all miss hits is actually 240 lol.

3W- 15 degrees........ 250

3H- 18 degrees......... 230

4 iron- 22 degrees.... 185-210 I sometimes load up on my 4 iron so not to use my hybrid/rescue.

5 iron- 25 degrees.... 175

6 iron- 28 degrees.... 165

7 iron- 32 degrees.... 155

8 iron- 36 degrees.... 145

9 iron- 40 degrees.... 135

PW- 45 degrees....... 125

I fill this gap by reducing power off the 45° PW that came with the iron set.

SW- 56 degrees....... 5-90

LW- 60 degrees....... 5-70

I know, huh?  Especially that driver.  No way he hits it over 200 with a swing like that.

You're taking that list at face value? A 45 degree PW (i.e. a 9-iron) at 125 and a 165 yard 28 degree club (i.e. a 5-iron) and a 280 yard driver with 240 average including ALL shots for a relatively new player? Okly dokly.

I've lost a lot of distance in the last 4 years, but I quit playing for 2 years 2009 and 2010 (new kid, new job, knee surgery, and a broken foot).  When I came back to the game, I had gained a lot of weight and just have not been able to get my distance back.  None the less, my distances are consistent and my scores are getting better than ever.  I'm using clubs from about 3 different sets I have, so why not hit the ones from each set you hit the best?

Driver   265                System Q component  r flex graffaloy blue pro launch

3w        225                Cobra SZ hyper steel  r flex graphite

4h        200                Cobra 4 hybrid  r flex graphite

1i         245 off tee      Ping Eye 2 zzlite steel shaft

3i          190                Ping Eye 2 zzlite steel shaft

4i          180                Ping Eye 2 zzlite steel shaft

5i          170                Ram FX Pro Set r flex graphite

6i          160                Ram FX Pro Set r flex graphite

7i          150                Ram FX Pro Set r flex graphite

8i          140                Ram FX Pro Set r flex graphite

9i          130                Ram FX Pro Set r flex graphite

pw        115                Golden Ram Tour Grind s flex 6.5 steel shaft

sw 54*    90                Titleist Vokey steel shaft

I did a demo with a new set of Cobra S3 Max irons with r flex graphite low kick point and I was hitting the 7 iron 165.  Some of my distance comprimise is in my choice of older clubs, but I prefer the trajectory control and ability to shape shots over ram distance.

The most difficult distance in golf is the six inches between your ears.

I've been working on restoring some iron distance the last couple months, and I keep a document saved with my average full swing distance for each club/iron set I own.  Right now I'm using PING S59 irons.

3 clubs for ~ 175 and 5 clubs between 205 and 240. Maybe you could meet up with that guy carrying 6-7 clubs for distances < 130 yard and make a deal?

Sounds like a good subject for a new thread.  Personally I like to keep a few stats on a separate score card sometimes.  Like driver distance, greens hit and distance to hole, number of putts, etc.  But I only do this when playing alone so I don't hold up my group when playing with them. Helps me remember the day when I'm home but doesn't really make me work on anything differently though. I already know the short game is the weakest part of my golf.

Seems I've found a few web sites that already offer stat tracking.  Can't remember their names for you however.  One guy I play with keeps stats on his cell phone with some app he bought for a buck or two a few months ago.  Anyway, give a thought to starting a new thread (is thread the right word?)

This thread seems interesting enough, so I'll give it a go. A lot of my distances end with 5's, and I'm not sure why.

Driver: 260 carry, 270 total (10.5*)

3 Wood: 250 off the deck, 260 teed up

18* hybrid: 235

21* hybrid: 225

4 iron: 215

5 iron: 200

6 iron: 185-190

7 iron:175-180

8 iron: 150-170 (have a gap on the low end, so I normally just choke up on my 8)

9 iron: 135-145

PW: 125-130

56*: 105-115

60*: 85-95

I have a few gaps at the low end to fix, maybe adding a Gap wedge, but I'm not sure about between my 8 and 9 iron. Also, I rarely hit my 56* and 60* at 100%, just because a 3/4 swing is so much easier to control. Therefore, I hit them around the low end of their ranges mostly.

My bag:

Driver: G10 10.5* w/ Pro Launch Red Reg

3 Wood: G10 w/ Pro Launch Red Reg

18* and 21* hybrids: G10 with Pro Launch Red Stiff

4-PW: Ping Eye 2 Irons w/ Reg GS 95

56* and 60*: Tour-S Rustique Wedges w/ Stiff KBS Tour

Putter: Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport
