It actually has to be postmarked during the promotional period (through April 11th). If you send the form in, Sergio loses, and you return the driver for a refund, what would happen? You'd get your money back, but would TM come after you...like make you buy the drive since you entered the promotion?

Let me just get this straight though: if I send in the 4 forms that I just filled out and Sergio wins, I get a FREE driver. I don't even need to purchase the driver before he wins. TM or Golfsmith will just send me one, right? It sounds way too good to be true, but from what I have read (here and golfsmith.com) it seems right.

It's still your right to return the thing. And since you'll have the receipt ("with purchase" entries can't be postmarked until April 13th), you'll be fine. You've misread.

The "Promotional Period" was defined as March 19-April 11. So if you want to purchase a driver, do so now (through April 11) and don't send the forms in until April 13 if Sergio wins. If he doesn't, you can return the club (and you'll have your receipt). If you want to enter for free, fill out and mail the forms now through April 11. Seems clear to me. I'll print off the forms and mail 'em in.

Apparently Golfsmith has teamed up with Sergio Garcia and Taylormade to promote their new driver line. If Sergio wins the Master's you get the price of any of the new Taylormade drivers refunded.

While I personally don't plan on buying anything new, I was wondering what everyone thought of this promotion, especially with Tiger showing he's back. Is anyone taking the chance?

Yes it has.

It's worth reminding everyone though, you don't have to "take a chance". Go to the official rules, paragraph 1.b. and you'll find a form to print, fill out, and mail in. If Sergio wins, they'll send you the driver of your choice......no purchase required!

I already mailed one in and i thought it was funny how in the rules for entering without a purchase they pretty much make it impossible for you to prove that you mailed them an entry letter.

If Sergio (by some remote chance) wins the Masters, I wouldn't be surprised if TM somehow loses half of the mail in entries.

Apparently they purchased insurance against this as well and have a policy out in case Sergio does win.. i wonder how much the premium was for that.

it says in teh fine print, proof of reciept does not mean proof of submission. So even if you can prove they recieved your nomination, they still are on there best honor to actually mail you the driver.

If sergio wins, and Golfsmith claims that anything higher then 1 or 2% of the people didn't mail it in, they will end up with a class action lawsuit on their hands.
