Thanks Mike couldn't find this thread... 8-iron.. I learned to play golf with an 8-iron... it's my go to club for everything when I'm having a bad round... hell I've had rough days where I'd hit 3 8-irons into par-5s

Callaway Big Bertha V Series driver. Not because I'm good with it, but I just WANT to use it! Love the feel and sound. I guess the lightness just suits me... I really should spend more time on my irons! :-)

BioCell 22.5 degree hybrid. I'm pretty accurate with it, and can hit it a long way. Right next to it is my SeeMore putter. Guys at the range rib me about it - "It's cheating. Where's the challenge? Hide the red dot and putt.

8 iron for me. Seems like I use it more than any other iron as it sets up perfect for my second shot with those longer par 4's.

LW.  Vokey raw 260.08, but now switching back & forth with Eye2 61*.

I love being creative around the greens with it, and not afraid to take full swings (even though most don't recommend it).

2nd choice is my TM X-300 FCI 8-iron - hit my only hole-in-one with it...  enuf said.

Callaway X hot pro 4 wood 17*, love using it off the tee and off the deck.

Right now it is my Nickent 3DX Utility DC 19* 5 Hybrid.

I can easily hit it between 185-200yds off the tee which has really helped me score on my home course which has 3 par threes that usually range from 190 to 210 yds with small greens.  It is a huge step up from the 4 iron that I was using before and it goes 10 yds further.

The only thing is that it almost plays like a different club when I hit it off the ground.  It goes lower and maybe 10 yds farther off the deck than off the tee.  This is probably due to the very shallow face and low center of gravity.

My 3 iron, always seem you make great shots with it wether I'm in the fairway or hacking out the rough. Inside 100 yards I'll use it to run it up on the green.

Taylormade Rocketballz 60° LW. I'm good with it from about 40 yards out, chipping, sand, flop (my favorite), and can bump and run with the shaft forward and a snap swing.

I am down to 6. Well 5 1/2 because the mechanix club isn't so legit.

How is that super stroke grip on the putter? I've seen them, it looks good, but I've never hit one.

Thats the mid slim 2.0 on a seemore mallet. Its a good size for me. I didnt realize they had so many custom sizes. I just dont like weird wrist position and that one fit well. Both hands on a similiar size parallel grip seems reasonable too for consistency.

I love my 5W. There was a period of about a month and a half where I couldn’t hit my driver to save my life, and I was hitting 3W and 5W off the tee. I came to trust my 5W off the tee, so if my driver and even my 3W are going haywire off the tee, I can hit the 5W with confidence that I’ll find the fairway.

Ball retriever gives a lot of Joy. Beside that always enjoy hitting my 3wood. Hybrid is also quite fun. You are always curious where the ball will go with these but most often they are fine.

Driver.... because hitting bombs brings me joy.

Personally, I don't think there is any club more fun to hit than driver. In fact, it is so fun to hit, I often disregard LSW principals for a chance to Phil Mickelson a drive.

I don't drive the ball that far anymore, maybe carry 200 to 210, so my 3 wood is my go to club off the deck on par fours and fives. I have an old Cobra that I will never get rid of, I just hope it doesn't break.

    • Going to a Friendsgiving tomorrow and I am bringing a no-bake cheesecake. I make the crust too big, but I think it turned out good. The filling is really good.
    • Sure, but how was your alignment? 🙂 Day 53 - 2024-11-22 Mirror work after getting back home. Wife is a superstar for her career/job/whatever.
    • I would say your back nine is the second nine you play that day. It's part of what makes getting some of those holes tougher. Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
    • Day 128: played 9. Nice little even 9, with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys.
    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
