I'm watching it online. I think it's the Golf Channel. They're not really showing much actual golf yet.

My own golf tournament got canceled so I was looking forward to lounging around watching the Open today on T.V.

Ah, this is frustrating. The weather SUCKS over the next few days as well.

There will be a break in the weather where it may only rain LIGHTLY from 1-4 today at Bethpage...that's when you should tune in. I'd say they won't bring the players out again until at best 12.

Man, I really shouldn't be reading this thread. Now I'm tempted to go home at noon, and work from home the second half of the day so that I can watch it live. I had planned on listening to it here at work on XM Online Radio, but I think it would be really interesting to see how these guys play under these conditions.

If someone hears a definite time when play is going to resume, can you please post it? I'd really appreciate it!

Oh, btw, if any of you have DirecTV, check out channel 701-705. Looks like it will be a nice setup and hopefully you shouldnt have to deal with Chris Berman!

Was half-watching/listening while at work until they stopped play. They are broadcasting it live on the usopen.com website if you only have access to a computer today. Well, not the whole tourney, but just Tiger's group, which is entertaining enough.

Looks like they are saying they do not expect play to resume until at least 1pm EST.

I dont think it will. Its supposed to be a decent day in this area tomorrow, but that looks like it. Even going into next week. It has rained in some fashion or another everyday in this region for the last 2 weeks, it seems like.

Yeah man, where you at in Jersey? Well I guess that's irrelevant considering the entire Northeast has been swamped with a crazy amount of rain.

I haven't seen sun in at least 2 weeks, maybe 3!

I slept in until 7:30 (pacific), and then had to drive to my folks' place to watch. Thanks to soccer and baseball updates, I'm caught up, since I can fast forward those.

Now, I thought the weather was bad here (Los Angeles) the past few weeks. It's actually really nice today. But even the bad weather here lately is nice compared to all that rain on the TV. My condolences to my friends in New York.

    • I’m really glad he won now! From Golf Digest
    • It's really hard to argue against the Tiger Woods 2000 swing.  I like Rory's swing. And, I've always liked Joaquin Niemann's swing. Although, if I tried to mimic Niemann's swing I'd probably end up in traction for 2 months. I was kinda bummed when he went to LIV cuz I almost never see it anymore.  At the other extreme, I can't look at Bryson when he plays. Even if it's very effective, it's coyote-ugly to watch.  I'd rather watch Charles Barkley than Bryson. ....
    • Thank you for that information,I would have loved to see him in person
    • I think he was always kind of like that - he hit it off the planet relatively frequently throughout his career. I saw him play a couple of times. One time at Walton Heath in the European Open. He was playing the 13th on the Old (dogleg right par 5) and his drive had gone through the fairway and found a patch of grass in the woods there to the left (the woods have now gone). He had an opening to play back to the fairway. Maybe 25 yards to reach the fairway and 65 yards to run through the other side. He was maybe 230 yards away from the green, but the trees made sure that was not a viable option (at least that's what I thought at the time). He pulled out a pretty long iron - probably a 3 and gave it a full blooded thrash. I watched this ball come out straight for about 40 yards and then it just turned hard left, but stayed in the air (still not sure how he did that). He started the ball at a point that must have been 100 yards right of the green and hooked it basically that whole 100 yards and the ball wound up on the front of the green.  Shotmaking he was pretty much peerless. Not sure his swing was ever technically solid. Flowing and fun to watch yes, but not one you'd want to copy.  As to the question, I have heard a few people suggest that Mickey Wright had the best swing ever. Frank Nobilo had a pretty sweet looking one. Bruce Lietzke's was pretty cool - he managed to maintain PGA Tour playing rights with basically little to no work on his game - got to be a lot said for that.
