Oh thats easy, I play Poison.

Poison is a game which I learned a couple years ago playing with my Dad around the Holidays. We were paired with these two dudes who showed us how to play. I'll try my best to explain this with words as I cannot upload a drawing.

First, you can only use the club you are going to tee off with, and everyone who is playing places their balls to the right of the rightest tee marker.

Then, the person with honors, or whoever won the previous Poison round, hits first. The objective is to hit the adjacent tee marker with your ball, then the tee marker you shot from initially. After this your ball becomes "Poison" and you try to eliminate the other players by hitting your ball into theirs. Also, you take turns if you miss a tee marker or another player's ball. The person who eliminates everyone else's ball, wins!

About the first step; make sure when you initially place your ball behind the right tee marker, that it is not blocking your shot...if that makes sense. Kindof behind the imaginary line the tee marker represents (Like in real golf not teeing up infront of the tee markers).

It's pretty addicting and strategy comes into play. The only drawback is if you get into a heated Poison match and the group in front of you has cleared...you want to finish the match!

+1, sometimes we play that you have to hit both of the tee markers on the next tee up as well... if you REALLY have a long wait.

This is the reason I learned to juggle! It kills time, entertains the others in the foursome, and help maintains some semblance of rythym when finally it is time to hit.

Depends on who I am with,

*If alone, I'll practise swing for a while and look around at the Scenery. If there is no group behind and I am awaiting to go on the Next tee, I'll practise putting/chipping around the Green.

*If with a Golfing Buddy, we usually get our drivers out and play 'Golf Hockey'. Stand with your legs open (a 5 iron stance) and you have 1 shot each to score a Ice Hockey style goal through the opposites legs, both using drivers. I seem to be better at this both saving and scoring, than hitting Driver.

I play this too when I'm with my friends. Pretty entertaining, haha. Been playing it for 2 or 3 years now, so I'm getting pretty good. But, if I'm by myself (which usually never anymore) I just think about how slow the groups in front of me are, or think of things not even related to golf.

Normally, I clean clubs, drink water, or chat with people in my group. Strangers seem to ask questions about my head-covers. If it looks like it will be more than a minute before my next shot, and my ball is not currently in play (e.g., I'm waiting on the tee), I will re-mark by ball if the colors are fading.

That having been said, I want to learn to juggle now:
This is the reason I learned to juggle! It kills time, entertains the others in the foursome, and help maintains some semblance of rythym when finally it is time to hit.

    • Contact is getting better. Swing path is still too inconsistent. Pushes and over draws. Sometimes some pull draws. I got to get this downswing path figured out.
    • I’m really glad he won now! From Golf Digest
    • It's really hard to argue against the Tiger Woods 2000 swing.  I like Rory's swing. And, I've always liked Joaquin Niemann's swing. Although, if I tried to mimic Niemann's swing I'd probably end up in traction for 2 months. I was kinda bummed when he went to LIV cuz I almost never see it anymore.  At the other extreme, I can't look at Bryson when he plays. Even if it's very effective, it's coyote-ugly to watch.  I'd rather watch Charles Barkley than Bryson. ....
    • Thank you for that information,I would have loved to see him in person
    • I think he was always kind of like that - he hit it off the planet relatively frequently throughout his career. I saw him play a couple of times. One time at Walton Heath in the European Open. He was playing the 13th on the Old (dogleg right par 5) and his drive had gone through the fairway and found a patch of grass in the woods there to the left (the woods have now gone). He had an opening to play back to the fairway. Maybe 25 yards to reach the fairway and 65 yards to run through the other side. He was maybe 230 yards away from the green, but the trees made sure that was not a viable option (at least that's what I thought at the time). He pulled out a pretty long iron - probably a 3 and gave it a full blooded thrash. I watched this ball come out straight for about 40 yards and then it just turned hard left, but stayed in the air (still not sure how he did that). He started the ball at a point that must have been 100 yards right of the green and hooked it basically that whole 100 yards and the ball wound up on the front of the green.  Shotmaking he was pretty much peerless. Not sure his swing was ever technically solid. Flowing and fun to watch yes, but not one you'd want to copy.  As to the question, I have heard a few people suggest that Mickey Wright had the best swing ever. Frank Nobilo had a pretty sweet looking one. Bruce Lietzke's was pretty cool - he managed to maintain PGA Tour playing rights with basically little to no work on his game - got to be a lot said for that.
