So, I had a shot tonight where I had to keep it low and rope draw it around a tree to get to near the green on a par 5. I just do the wrist stuff really well and crushed it. Hit about a 30 yard draw with a 5 iron that went about 230 yards.

So, I just need to imagine there is a tree in front of me so I can hit that shot. 🤣

I somehow bruised the bone of my right index finger or maybe jacked up one of the joints doing yard work yesterday. I have no clue how, I didn't feel any sudden jolt of pain. My finger just got stuff and starting hurting more and more during the evening. It still a bit swollen.

Hopefully this is something short term.

At least you didn't need an X-Ray and an MRI like me.

Sounds like you may have just stubbed it or rapped it on something.

Ok, so going to get this posted, out in the world.

I haven't posted as much because of work life balance being s*** right now. I have this project in NJ (sorry @billchao, but NJ is a giant pain in the a** 😉) that is just sapped all my motivation for most anything else. My bowling league started up, so that is taking more focus.

I plan to start working out again, again NJ project, since I haven't worked out consistently in like 6 months. I also will start practicing golf again here soon. Time to get some indoor work done, and the golf course near me has a trackman you can rent out. So, I plan to hit some over the winter as well.

Yup, sorry, not my rules, but rules are rules.

Welp, 2025 has started off great (sarcasm).

Lingering cough since Jan. 3rd-ish.

Now, I was bowling in a tournament this morning, and felt like two cracks / pops in my back near my hip.  Luckily not sudden pain or what not, but my lower back is not happy. It was the weirdest sensation, and  then not feeling the pain I thought would happen. Still, I think I hurt my back in some way. Going into rehab mode now. 😹

I think it is probably my lack of motivation to work out the past 8 months. I could tell it was starting to act up a bit. Like, one day I was getting some micro-spasms. Bowling just tipped it over the edge.

Its not the worst it has been. Moving around helps out. I just need to do some PT.

Agreed on the PT. Unlikely you have a serious injury. Most likely it's just from being tight/out of shape and then doing something athletic. Been there a million times, trust me.

PT, light gym work 40 minutes a day really adds up over time. Plus I couldn't do what I do without the aid of my massage gun.

Dry needling can help unlock a lot of this as well, so don't forget about this option for some point down the road.

PS- For the last few years I've seen a DPT twice a week. It's expensive, but I've learned a few things: one of them is his mobilizations of tight areas around my back and pelvis has really helped. Seeing an actual therapist regularly for a few months is a big time advantage. Our bodies are like cars in that we do need to maintain them to a certain extent X amount of the time.

I know you know all this already, I'm just reiterating stuff. Hope you're feeling better soon!
