No glove here.

I'm planning to switch to the Golf Pride New Decade Multi-compound. I love the feel of the full corded grip on my putter, hopefully they don't feel like sandpaper when taking a full swing with no glove lol

I play these grips and they aren't hard on the hands IMO.

I tried wearing one when I was just starting out on everything but wedge and putter. I ditched the glove and have never bought one since (only been playing for about 2yrs). It kind of got a little irritating taking it off between shots, and I didn't like leaving it on most of the time and getting sweaty. I get more feel of the club without one. I play the Winn PCi-TL so the grip wears a little fast. I'm planning to switch to the Golf Pride New Decade Multi-compound. They do feel like sandpaper without a glove. I have the new decades, dont't wear a glove yet 2 or 3 fingers are constantly taped. I am going to switch to the iomic sticky's to try and help out with it.

Don't use them for anything under a full gap wedge.

No glove here. Club doesn't feel as stable in my hands with one on as I don't try to choke the golf club.

Yes, I usually put the glove on my lead hand and it stays there until I'm done with the round. Not sure why...

My hands tend to sweat so I wear one for all but putting.

Only if it's very hot and humid and I'm sweating a lot. When I do I don't use it inside about 85 yards.

All last year I played wearing a glove. This year I haven't used one. It seems as though I am playing just as well, if not better without a glove this year. Or maybe it's those new clubs I acquired. Has anyone else in this forum tried playing without the glove? And if so does it make a difference for you.

I just started playing with a glove again now that I don't wear them out for at least 3 months. For about 2 years, I got really thick callouses in the pad and fingers, and with the gloves I have smaller more manageable callouses.

Do you notice any difference in your grip pressure or in anything else (other than the fact that you're playing better) when you played without a glove?  I always just assumed that if I didn't wear a glove, I'd be getting major calluses.

I have not worn a glove more than a round or two a year for the last 7 years.

My grips are good and the only time I wear one is when its very humid and I need a bit more grip.

My grip pressure seems about the same. Although I haven't had the chance as yet to play as much as I want this year. I've only played about 10 times and only 9 holes each time due to not having more time available to me at the moment.

I never wear a glove.  I don't have calluses (from golf), either.  I used to wear one a long, long time ago but one day I was pulling this nasty old glove out of my bag because I didn't have a new one and just decided, the heck with it and played without one.  Never looked back.

Sometimes I think maybe I might start wearing one again for a better grip - basically because it's been so long, just to see if I like it or not . . but not for calluses.

Great topic.

For me, I wear a glove on my left hand for the better grip.

Corded grips tear my hands up. So, these are not for me.

I've also (on occasion) worn gloves on both hands. Yeah, I have thin skin. :)

Now, how often I change my gloves is another question. There is nothing like starting off a round with a new (fresh) glove.

    • Day 549, May 4, 2024 After lessons and working with Natalie, hit some balls for awhile. Just backswing stuff. Forgot about the slightly shorter stuff, though I'm sure it was as they were only about 75% speed with brief pauses.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
