I carry 14 clubs with the putter. I swap the 3wood with my 19 Hybrid depending on the course or what I need. I will also swap out my 3 iron with a 64* wedge and carry extra wedges sometimes, but I usually keep the 14 clubs.

Whats in the my bag,

Just an observation here, but no one with a handicap under 10 that has responded carries less than the max amount of clubs. That is a pretty good hint to me. But, I have been wrong before (per the wife!).

I carry 14, but I use the lob wedge roughly once every five rounds. I could probably shoot exactly the same with 13 clubs. I could probably take out the 3I too. I use that roughly as often as the lob wedge.

I carry them because I "can" but not because I "need" to at all.

I currently carry 11. I may make it 12 in the next couple months. I don't carry my even irons but I'm considering putting the 8i in. I seem to have a couple shots per game where I am legitimately concerned that a 9i might not be long enough but a 7i would be too long.

Nice thread. U can all see no handicap here, just your basic hacker who golfs for the outdoors experience but here in the desert SW heat, I almost Always drive a cart to prevent death, so amount of clubs and their wt. is no problem. I could easily carry 15-16. Why not? I am not competing nor will I ever. I have a Mizuno MP Fli-Hi #2 I like and my MP-32 #3 & #4 irons sit at home in favor of my hybrids.

I'm going to look at the slots on the bag again, if there is room for another 1-2 beyond the 14 in my sig, may add them back . BTW, Once I make the conversion back over to bass fishing again in 3-4 yrs, I will have 5-6 rods in the boat. Yeh, it's weird, we can only hit one club at a time (or fish w/one rod), but the option is so nice!

Finally, most rounds I play I am quite certain that I only end up playing 7-8 clubs from the bag. So all the rambling above is just that in my application....just enjoy the outing!

14, but I rarely use the 3W, the 3 iron, or the SW. The SW is strictly for 100 yard shots, the 3 iron sort of overlaps with the 4 iron and 2 hybrid, and I just hate the 3W.

I carry 13 clubs. I may add a 3 hybrid at some point to make 14. I was thinking about a 52 (bent to 53) to go between my 50 and 56, but I really don't need it. Maybe I'll just stick with 13. It's lighter to carry anyways.

I have a better question. Who on the PGA Tour doesn't carry 14? You may be thinking for a while.

Fact is, even if it gets used once a round, it still gets used. I rarely use my 16° wood, if I do it's for punches below trees, shorter tee shots, and other such stuff, but I still carry it.

    • So no joke, last evening post work nine must have been the craziest side I've ever played: Bogey, double, double, par, birdie, birdie, birdie, double, birdie. Two gimme birdies, one 15 footer and one bonus bomb from prolly 35 feet on no. 9. Full disclosure, it's a super easy course when greens are running at an 8 with easy welcoming pins. Still, a couple of firsts there. Driver freed me up starting the fourth hole. Anyway, driver notes: 1) anti left left hand grip. 2) no structural bind on hands/grip. 3) left shoulder HAS to get up to chin with humerus completely detached from chest and shoulder socket (feel) Big game tomorrow, aiming to break 80.
