Just got back from the local course. It's very wooded around the edges, and with this afternoons downpour I figured the course wouldn't be very busy and it would be prime pickin!

I was out for maybe an hour, found about 100 balls. I would say 80% in playable condition. Lots of ProV1/xs, several bridgestone, lots of callaways and even a Penta!

Do you all pick balls or just buy? I haven't bought a ball in several seasons.

I don't go out "huntin" for them, but if I see one I definitely don't pass it up, that's the only way I get ProV's!

Most of the time they're one shot into the bush out of the package haha
Up at the nice golf course around me the marshalls and crew pickup like 5-10 premium balls a day

Counted em up and cleaned em today. About 100 total- 20 crap balls, about 40 mid level(nxt type stuff) in good shape and 39 premium balls. Not bad for an hours work!

This makes me want to get a house on a golf course.... Never knew that my "golf expenses" would ever include something in 6 figures...

I pick and give them to friends or family, but usually play the same ball myself. Buy them cheap at Ebay.

If Im out for a late 9, or playing on a rainy day with a empty course, I'll hawk balls from the woods and lakes. Its fun. I'll play the premier balls and put the mid level balls in my shag bag. A couple of the courses I play give used balls to the kids in the area. If I hawk balls on those courses.... I'll keep a few and turn the rest over to the pro shop.

I typically don't go looking for them, but there are a few "collection points" on my home course. If I'm running low on balls, I'll stroll through one of them and see what's in there.

My course is built on the city water well field so they often drain the ponds in the spring. I call this hunting season since there is little play in the evenings and plenty of time to hunt. I grabbed a bunch of of balls, took them home and soaked them in bleach water and gave the crap balls to the kids.

I go looking for them from time-time.

I was at a pro-am on Monday and Alvaro Quiros was very nice, he hit a load of Pro V1's over the back of the range so I'm ok for another month or two!

At our course there are many spots where you can find balls that have been lost. Most of the regulars know where those spots are and will search them out between November and May however between April and October it's rattlesnake season out here so we pretty much stay out of the barrancas ( http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/barranca ) and off of the mountainsides. It's never a good feeling when you see a "stick" slither away under your feet.

I don't usually go hunting but will cherry pick the brands/balls I like. Pristine balls go into rotation, scuffed balls get saved for one of those days when I'm having a bad round and everything seems to be jumping into the junk.

Based on the thread's subject line, there is a lot of this activity going on with all this HHH weather...

I pick, keep those I play and give away the rest. I usually find more when looking for my ball than others.
Amazing how many ppl hit bad shots just like me in the same area haha. Found 8 balls in one bush once.Best time is to follow scrambles lol

Best part is helping someone else look for a ball and finding 4 other decent ones. I'd say I like it when I go in looking for my own and come out with a few, but I'd rather not be in there looking for mine.
