In the end, sort of a blah round for Tiger. Some nice shots, some bad shots, but it started (and ended) on good notes. Looked pretty solid on the shorter putts, and had a couple of great long putts that easily dropped in an alternate universe. Tee shots still looking dicey... Didn't lose his cool, though. Even eked out the par after his tee shot in the drink (and the ensuing helicopter toss).

His duffed chip from the nasty stuff off the green on (17? last par 3) had me thinking choke, except that Yang did worse from what looked like the same lie 5 feet away. I'm thinking that stuff was nastier than it looked (and it looked pretty bad!)

The Sergio business was funny in a sad way.

Anyway, best round Tiger's had in a couple tournaments. He's certainly off to a good enough start to have a shot.

Sergio's caddie is a bigger man than I....if he pulled a stunt like that, I'd take him behind the clubhouse and punch him square in the gut to teach him a lesson...just sayin

If I made what Sergio's caddie makes, and my boss did that on occasion, I can't say I'd be punching him.

I dunno. I didn't see it, but they're taping and archiving lots. I'm just picturing Sergio being Sergio. I think he threw the club at his caddy's feet.

Am I the only person who suspects that Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano always looks like he's been teleported from a golf tournament from 1987?

From the angle they had of Sergio, it looked like he was in the process on murdering someone in the bunker. It reminded me of one of those "Caught on Tape" beatings. lol He went back for a few more whacks and then stumbled back in. Then he whipped the club pretty hard. What a hoser!

I was watching the the Directv feed of Tiger, Yang, Vijay and then Phil, Louis, Graeme. It was kindof neat just following a group like that and not jumping all over the place. It makes you feel more into it than the other coverage. Phil needs to slow down and get a groove thing going like Louie. He keeps backing away from the ball and hits them bad. You can't keep hitting those saves time and time again. McDowell looks like he'd be a cool cat to hang with just by his actions.

I love to see either Woods, Rory, or Bubba take this one.

On a side note; if anyone finds that video of Sergio losing it in that bunker, please post:) lol

None of the big names played themselves out of the tournament during the first day, which certainly pleases the monied interests.

The leaderboard has a very eclectic look to it. I hope it stays that way.

Haha... That made me laugh. He hits his shot and then starts to walk out of the bunker, turns, goes back, and then throws a fit. He caddy goes in after he's done probably thinking "this is going to a doosy to rake smooth".

If I was Sergio I'd be very embarrased today. But it obviously doesn't bother him that much, 'cause he keeps doing it.The shoe - throwing incident, spitting in the cup, and now this.Personally wouldn't mind if he made his 2 month break from Golf permanent.
