Playing a college tournament back in 2002. Wind was HOWLING that day..probably 50mph gusts it felt like. Got to my 2nd shot on a par 4...about 120 to the pin, dead into the wind. I grab a 7 iron with the plan to hit a punch. The SOB ballons on me...the ball lands short of the green by 20 yards. I stood there in disbelief..I hit a 100 yard punch 7 iron.

Standing on a Tee box and all of a sudden "THUMP" a ball comes flying in from nowhere and nobody is around that you think hit it. Nobody yells fore or comes looking for it and you just go meh free ball and its always like a prov1 or something. Like free prov1's sometime rain from the sky lol.

The shot that 5% of the time makes it through the trees and lands nicely on the green. Cause then I try it again the next day and I hit the tree and pull out a longer iron for my next shot as I walk backwards :)

Couple weeks ago I had to hit a drive over a pond, hit it really low and it skipped 40' across the water on to the fairway. I couldnt believe it and couldnt do it again if I tried.

The occasional dreaded disappearing ball magic act. You hit a perfect drive landing dead center in the fairway. Yet when you walk up there, the ball is no where to be found. You and your buddies search for a good 5 minutes and find nothing. Then take a free drop.

20 mph wind constant. Standing on the tee shot thats a bit tight, fairway bends slightly right. I know i hit this 3-wood 260 on a great trajectory that bores through the wind. All i need is 250 to be about 100 yards out. So i hit it, and i cut across it and shut the clubface so much that i slam the club into the ground. The ball pops up going about 100 yards out and to the left. It gets caught in the wind and gets blown back 20 yards into the trees and thicket that make the hole a tight driving hole. 3-wood, normally 260 yards, 80 yards OB..

When I slice massively, and my ball nails a tree, and goes back onto the fairway. Priceless.

Happeneed to me this past weekend actually. Hit a dead straight drive and saw the thing land on the fairway but saw the ball roll down hill on a dip in the fairway. Took my eyes off it and walked down the fairway and the ball was nowhere in sight. I must've looked up and down the fairway and did not see the damn ball anywhere.

Also...par 3, yardage marker says 120 so grabbed my PW and hit a soft choked up shot. Ball flew way over the green into the hazzard... WTF?! checked on range finder, the green is only roughly 80 yards from the teebox. What jerk off marked that one?

A shot a buddy of mine hit on a short par 3 once actually left me slack-jawed in amazement-come-bewilderment. This par 3 is only around 130 from the men's tees, but there's a pond from about 30 yards in front of the tee box to about 5 yards in front of the green. So my buddy tees it up, and hits it really, really fat. I mean, this thing is going about 90 yards tops . Whilst it's plummeting into the pond, I have one of those "no way" moments as I see where it could actually land, and sure enough, it hits the only rock in the pond, causing it to take a huge bounce, and landing just on the front of the green. Which by the way, was where the flag was cut that day.

My face must have been such a picture, because I just stared at his ball for at least 5 seconds before saying anything. He was in stitches.

Ha, those random shots are fun to witness. Awhile ago I was playing a local par 3 course where the green is roughly 150 yards or so with OB at the back of the green with a chain fence in the back. My friend thins the ball and this things going atleast 170 yards. He looks away to grab another ball when we hear this loud PINGGGGG and see the ball bounce off a fence post and right on the green for a 10 ft putt. We looked at eachother and just started cracking up.

Mostly bad slices that bounce off a tree right into the middle of the fairway, once in a while when going at a pin I'll gauge the distance right but hit a shot that's real pure and 15-20 yards longer than usual and fly the green.

Today....
Was blowing it's head off!!! "Attempted" to hit a flat bat driver off the tee. Smashed the shot, but 1 bad thing happend..... Balloned, so dam high, only ended up 200.

Again today.
Down wind, I had 300 to the green, grabed out a 3 wood and SMASHED it (my fathers jaw hit the ground). Hit the green then 3 putted.... first 3 putt in about 4 rounds.... -_-

An 85yd SW to a pin on right side of green. However, big oak tree guards right side and since my weak 2nd shot was short and right I had no shot at the pin threw all the branches. Aimed way left hoping to leave a 40-50' putt at best. Made great contact but couldn't see ball as my head came up, that's because I pushed it bad right at all the branches. Since there are no leaves my eye catches the ball just as it exits the branches, having not touch a single one, and lands 6" on the back side of the hole. I'm sure I could have stood there all day long hitting balls at the pin and never get through clean again.

I kind of posted this a little while ago but it was more of the whole round than anything... On the 3rd hole, par 3 185ish yards I almost made a hole in one, on the lip. Hole 9, a long par 5, I hole my bump and run for an eagle. 15 hole, a really devious par 4 with a crazy arse green, I holed out from 86 yards for eagle (flew it right in the hole). I then birdied the last 3 holes... The problem with the story is that I had 2 double bogies for a smooth 68... I am still shaking my head about that round!
