The driver that suits you.

This sort of poll is ridiculous.

Not to mention that Ping, Bridgestone, Adams, Cobra, Cleveland and Mizuno would be counted as "other".

Totally ridiculous.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Yeah-not sure what you hope to accomplish or discover with this poll.  My favorite driver is a Nike, but I also own 2 Titleist drivers.  So I should I vote Nike?  But wait, my Dad uses a Cleveland Hibore XL Tour that I absolutely crush the ball with.  Should I vote Cleveland?  Bottom line-I have no idea what is best for anyone other than myself.

All companies make good stuff. A good starting point is to get on a launch monitor and see what your launch angles and spin are, a good clubfitter will be able to narrow it down a bit for you. Since I recently purchased a Titleist 910 D2, that's what I would recommend trying. Taylormade makes very nice drivers, as does Bridgestone, Callaway, Mizuno, Nike, Adams, etc etc. Pick a driver that looks good at setup for you and take it from there. If you get fitted, make sure you try out a bunch of different clubheads and them search for a shaft to you're liking. "The Best Driver in Golf" is so vague, it is really what you feel looks best, feels best, and gives you optimum results. Good luck in your search!

I have Nike Driver but I think Taylormade is the best brand out there.  Since they keep coming out with the new innovations which are different from the rest of the brands.

Whats in my Golf Bag:
Driver: Nike Sumo 5000
5 Wood: Mizuno MP-001
Iron: Mizuno MX-950 5-PW
Wedge: Cobra FP 60 degrePutter: Odyssey 2-BallBall: Yellow balls

My favorite driver is from a company that no longer exist, Nickent. But it looks like many others that are out there. As others have said, there really is no best other than the one that works for you.

 Sub 70 849 9* driver

:callaway:  Rogue 3 & 5 woods, Rogue X 4 & 5 hybrids

:tmade: SIM 2 6-gap irons

:cobra:  King snakebite grove wedges 52 & 58*

 :ping: Heppler ZB3 putter

I voted other.  Lots of good drivers out there but I've always been fond of Ping and Cobra. Not too sure about Cobra since they changed hands.  But always felt that the two clubs that you personalize are your driver and putter.

I don't disagree with you at all, Taylormade makes solid stuff. However, I feel that this is where they get a hold of shoppers, they make you believe their stuff is the best because of their innovations in the clubs. Personally, I have never been a fan of all this adjustment. I got an R7 Quad when they first came out, and I spent more time dinking with those darn weights than I did trying to correct my swingpath. I really was disappointed when Titleist brought the adjustment into their line, however, I bought one and love keeping it on a draw bias.

We know that TM's marketing team is doing a great job i guess.  with customer service aside, i think the brand is the least important thing on the club.  i had a TM r580 XD which i hit well, but bought an Adams Speedline Fast 10 with a matrix shaft for a good deal and i hit it well so i am happy.

buying new clubs is all about performance and preference...2 things which are not the same thing from player to player.

Well for me at least.....

Nickent made such great stuff, too bad they aren't around. Their hybrids were top, by far, hands down, period.

    • My two cents? Don't. As a beginner that's interested in learning about the golf swing, you'll find yourself consuming a lot of information, most of which isn't even relevant to your own swing. You need to learn you can't think your way to a good golf swing. Focus on the one thing that you're working on and doing that on every swing, come what may. And remember, mishits happen.
    • Day 6 (7 May 24) - More work in the backyard focused on tempo in addition to setup.  Worked with 6 and 7 irons hitting hard foam balls - used the old MacGregor irons to mix it up a little.
    • No! lol. But they have to be in the right sequence to play mid-handicap golf or little better. Mostly. And even in that there is range/margin for error in the motions and positions that most normal humans can handle. It helps if you have a decent idea of how a golf club moves around the body like you would any other equipment sports (baseball and hockey might be the closest) After all, fairways are 40 yards wide. Don't overthink it. Be diligent in getting basics right. I will concede that it is harder than it sounds but it certainly is not exact angle/exact position/exact degree of bend/exact speed/exact facial expression, etc, every.... single.... time or the result is horrible death.
    • Looking to play in the Severna Park Golf league and it got rained out the first three weeks. I know the course is being renovated so it is not in great shape but the location is easy for me and I would love to meet some other golfers in my area. Anyone here in Maryland Annapolis area?
    • I like to look at the positives.  Overall you are fairly consistent down the center with most shots 20 yards or less off center.  On most fairways that should be in play.  Sure, you had some very short duds, but also if you look there is a good cluster in the 110-125 yard range.  Sure, we would all like to be longer, but knowing your typical shot is more important than trying to hit the 7-Iron 175 Yards.  Just take more club for longer shots and do not worry about it.  Your distances may increase as you improve over time so do not get caught up on that now.
