They said the forecast for the rest of the week is good, so we could see some low scoring. I like this course, it's got water, reachable par 5s, lots of trees, bunkers and some cool hole designs.

First round just about finished now. Mahan at -8, Ishikawa at -7. A bunch of guys trailing at -3 and -4. Tiger carding another birdie to get to -2. Phil really messed it up today with a bogey on the par 4 7th and a double at the par 5 8th.

Yeah it sucks to see him playing like this. When he gets hot he is one of the best players to watch. Must be something in the water at The Oven

Mahan looked really good yesterday.  To bad I didn't pick him up on my fantasy.  Tiger needed to go lower but I don't think he is completely out but he won't win this week, not the way the guys at the top are playing.

I agree. If Tiger can shoot a 65 or 66 in the wind today, he may have a chance, relative to other players of course. He used to be lethal when the wind was blowing.....don't know about that anymore though.

Phil is also set to overtake him in OWGR too

When's the last time Tiger shot a 66 in the wind.... anywhere? I like the heck out of the guy's game, but a wind player he is not. More likely that he grinds out another 70 (maybe) and that the rest of the field comes backwards or something.

Plus one of the coolest, most fitting names for a course, period. Blue Monster just sounds badass. Makes me think of a huge roller coaster at Six Flags or something, and I guess when it has dried out some, it might turn into just that.

When I read "Blue Monster" I picture a guy trying to steal my cookies (and the letter "C"). And to make matters worse, he's not even going eat them, he's just gonna smash them and make a mess. He is a menace.

I didn't say he had?.....I said that's what he would need to do....I think 2000 British Open he shot the best he ever has in 15-20 MPH winds.....

TBH, he isn't 'lethal' in wind, very bad wording, he usually holds his ground though.

The last time I was there I thought they should have called it the "White Monster" because of all the bunkering (this goes back to late 90s) they added to give the course more teeth.  Water on a Florida course is pretty standard and this course has plenty.
