I like The Masters best. It signals the start of spring, even for those where it's still (unofficially) winter. Commercials on the TV broadcast are very limited. It's exciting. And The King won it four times.

I would say that the Masters, because of the type of course it is, narrows the field down drastically as to who can win it, whereas the other Majors move around every year and this brings a lot of golfers into the mix who have no chance to win at the Masters.

Look at the guys who never won a Masters but won Majors . . . and now this is more of an issue than ever because the course has been lengthened to absurd proportions. It now favors Tiger and Phil and a few others too much.

Id have to say the Masters aswell, Augusta is beautiful, 1st major of the year and it has sort of a magical feel to it. I've never been but im sure if there was a golf heaven it would be something like Augusta Georgia.

Got to be the British OPEN!!!

To win the british open at st Andrews means that you have fulfiled your golfing life!

The courses require so much more skill and imagination rather than the lush course in the US. I think it should be like the masters and played at St Andrews every year!!!
Golf is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into an even smaller hole, with weapons singularly ill-designed for the purpose.

If the question was what is the most scenic course of all the majors I would have to say the Masters. But in my opinion the US Open is the best. I love watching the best pros slide a 5 wood under the ball in the 5 inch rough or tap a put and watch it roll off the green. Shinecock and Pinehurst #2 were the best. All the players were complaining it was too hard. UHHHHH???? If everybody is playing the same course does it matter???? Hit it below the hole and you won't have that problem. Aren't these guys the best of the best????

At the Masters the rough is like the fairways at most Muni courses. I know the greens are like bikini wax, thanks McCord, but the good players still tear that course up.

The Masters has the best golf, but the British has by far the best TV coverage. I love getting up at 5am and watching about 10 straight hours of golf, getting to watch pretty much every shot taken by the top players. The TV coverage of the Masters is embarrassingly bad. It has less coverage during the early rounds than an average Tour event.

The Masters is my least favourite, I think. Over-manicured and a bit too pleased with itself. Plus I always feel that it is insufficiently penal to those who are wild off the tee; it seems to me that hitting the ball straight with the driver ought to be pretty fundamental to winning a major championship. I like both the Opens. They're opens, for a start, and they move around a selection of interesting courses that are usually set up to challenge different aspects of the game. More like a golf tournament, less self-congratulatory.

The more I practise, the luckier I hope to get.

I voted for the Masters for my favorite. Not so much for the golf played, but for the over all beauty of the course. It shows quite well on TV.

Masters.

A lot of it, for me, has to do with the timing, as it coincides a bit with the start of the golf season around here. Plus, I've been there a couple of times and am very familiar with the course.

My second choice is the Open Championship. I like getting up and watching championship golf at dawn.

Been to three of the four and it's the Masters by a wide margin. The order of the remaining three depends largely on the course location for me but more often than not, the British is my second favorite for the year.

To me it is The Open Championship.   Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching all of them but not only is it the oldest of the majors, this is golf the way it was envisioned by the founders of the game and there is something to be said for that..

The British Open for the reason stated above. Links golf in general forces players to hit different styles of shots and be more creative (I personally think not enough links golf is played on tour). Add in the fact that it's a major and you're in for some exciting rounds of golf.
