We also let any former students "audit" any of the same classes for free as space is available (and space is almost always available, as former students often help out a little too).

Does Mike (MVMAC) do Aimpoint classes here in So. Cal.?

So far, I am convinced that the 5 Keys work. I have been only working on Keys 1 and 2, and have already started to hit the ball solidly. Also, do I count as a "former" student, as I have taken a couple classes with Mike?

In any case, it's time look at improving my putting which is currently at 38 to 40 putts per round.

Former students means students who have taken that particular AimPoint class.

Just wishful thinking. :-)

I would think the 9'' level would also suck. It's really small compared to a green.

You only want to measure it in a certain area. The 9" level is about the perfect size.

Get the bubble if you can. They're quite handy and work well.

Hi

I'm retiring from the Carpenters Union  in 12.56 days . So I'm getting ready to play some golf !

I have all kinds of spirit levels, 9'', 24" and 48 " . Do I need a digital level or will these be OK.

Thanks

Do they measure percentage slope?

Same answer to your question.

I'm having a hard time understanding how a 9" level could  give you the slope of a green. This size level is good for small things like leveling a picture. I would never use this to hang a door, hanging cabinets  or installing  a counter top.

Most doors are only 3'X7' and this level would not be the level to use for this job. So how can this level give you the slope for a 10' putt.  It might give you the slope where the level sits, but that's about it.

I was going to take an Aimpoint Clinic this coming Nov., but I'm going to research this subject a little more, before I hand over 200.00. I understand reading slope with your feet. I just need to understand the method used for finding the slope. A nine inch level , no way!

Yes way.

You don't find the slope across the entire ten feet. You find it at the mid-point of the putt and go from there. It's fast and far more accurate than what you're doing now.

Think about it this way, how long is your foot? 9-18" for a male. I think a 9" level is just fine then don't you?

Ralph, why don't you learn the method before you decide that it doesn't work?

What good is a long level on a surface that irregardless of slope is not flat and can often have crowns and bowls? It is not a table top tilted at an angle, that is why gathering information from a smaller area is effective. The system works, spend the money and become a better putter or don't and stay the same.

Ok 18" long shoe might be over a bit, size 12 would be around a 12.5-13" shoe overall in length. Each full size increment is only 1/3rd an inch.

    • How does he fit for clubs with that setup?  I get this to an extent, but plenty of players have slightly different patterns with different clubs throughout their bag, but using that logic why not start with 3 foot putts or 5yd chip shots? I have quite different feels for a 20-40yd pitch shot than I do for a 140yd shot. Loft presentation at setup and impact, ground contact, weight transfer (or lackthereof), etc are all different on a 20-40yd shot vs a full iron shot.  If you enjoyed the lesson and found value in it that's great, personally I'd be a bit annoyed if I went in and wanted to work on full swing stuff and this guy has me doing 20-40yd pitch shots for an hour with my lob wedge.
