We have been waiting 5,346 hours for this! We should have a free club if you can name the final score/place for Dan.

I don't think we do.  We'll get to see hisfull hole-by-hole score, but we're still (I suspect) not going to find out anything until after he's completely finished.

At least that's how it works in the tournaments I play in.  There certainly aren't any live scorers following us around, but after the round the organizers upload everything into bluegolf.com and so there is a record of everything.

What? No live telecast? We've been waiting for 5,347 hours!

Although, if Dan knew that so many of us were following, he should have a friend of his update his personal blog as he goes, for our sake!

He could do it with a caddy wearing a gopro.. If he knows we are watching, all the more pressure to perform.

The link is updating every few minutes with hole by hole results, but only capturing them at holes 4, 9, 13, and 18. Very cool..... I say he shoots 80 even.

So, am I correct to assume that "Travis Philpot" quit after 4 holes on the front and back? It looks like +7 does not make the cut?

I think they are playing modified blue tees "6668 yards"

Normal Blues are: 71.4/127 at 6525 yards.

Lol.. not sure.. the scoring is always off. You can choose not to give someone your scores. Every three holes they typically just say name and last 3 scores and that is how it is updated here at least. Did you see Johnny Miller is playing in this thing?

I am going to say 83

Isn't he the long drive kid? I don't think he's the "Johnny Miller". He shot even par.

Cool!  They got their stuff toegther up there in Oregon, I guess!!  I stand corrected ... my apologies @Todd Ruggere .

I think he needs to shoot +4 or less (if there are more +3 guys in the final count) to be one of the "37" that go to the 105th Oregon Amateur.

EDIT: first 4 holes are: birdie and 3 bogies. He probably won't make the cut. I'll give him 25% chance, right now. May go up if he gets more pars.

I'll estimate 79 final score.

Well that's what happens when you start 1,1,1,1 on 3 par 4's and a par 5.

Somebody should keep an eye on him ... I bet he's Kim Jong Un in disguise!!

http://www.ghintpp.com/OregonGA/TPPOnlineScoring/CourseStats.aspx?id=372 Based on the averages of those holes so far, a 77 is about the middle score. Since 37 of the 73 move on, I'd think Dan needs a 77 or thereabouts. He's +6 thru 9. That's 78 if he pars every hole on the back.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
