I've had a feeling for a while now that Tiger is done with golf. I think the injuries combined with his scandal have sapped his strength and his focus now is on rebuilding his family life. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired after the season is over just to avoid too much publicity.

Doubt it. Let's be honest, there isn't a whole lot of "family life rebuilding" he can do. That ship has sailed. EDIT: Also, some people just should not grow facial hair. Some of those people include Tiger Woods and myself. It's almost as bad as the U.S. women's World Cup uniforms.

Ok, maybe "family life rebuilding" was a bad choice of words. I'll sub with "picking up the pieces". With his personal life a mess and minor injuries keeping him away from the game I just think he's having serious second thought about competeing again or at least in the near future.

I still disagree. I'm not trying to defend Tiger either- but when you've messed up as much as him, there is only so much you can do. His ex-wife divorced him, it's not like he has much of a chance to change that. I have no idea what the custody situation between him and his ex-wife is, but assuming he has the kids half the time, what is he supposed to do the other half? He's unemployed, basically. He's going to do the only thing he knows how to do, what he's been doing since he was in diapers, he's going to golf. Not well, currently, but golf nonetheless. If anything, the time away from golf is probably making him miss it more.

Yeah no way I could see Tiger giving up golf any time soon.  It seems like golf is the only thing he really has left, I really hope to see him win a few more majors before his career is over.

Tiger wants to compete.  His "family life" has settled down at this point and all that's left is Golf and his business ventures.  If Tiger doesn't play golf and play well, the value of his brand will subside making his business projects less sellable.  So you better believe he wants to get out there and compete.  Not only does it satisfy his golf goals, it allows him to easily sell his businesses.

As for the rest of this career... there is absolutely no way Tiger is going to retire. He is probably the most competitive person to ever play a sport. He has said he knows once he is healthy he still has many years of competitive golf left in him. He referenced Jack getting his last at 46, which is a clear indication that he fully intends to go after 18 until he doesn't feel he is capable anymore. I sincerely hope he takes the rest of the year off to completely heal...figure out his putting stroke (hopefully that means go back to trusty ole Scotty instead of the heel shafted method, YUCK!...Get his swing back to him playing on instinct and not thinking so much out there... And finally just playing with that fire we all know and love to watch. I would love to see a splash at Torrey next year ala, 2009 at Arnie's tourney.

Ah.  Bearded Tiger.  He always grows facial hair when life gets weird for him.  I'd be happy to see him sit out the entire year.  At this point, coming back too early could cause more damage than losing a year.  I'm sick of trying to feel empathy for him and his situations and would rather see him healthy so I can either root for or against him.  Time to get the personal life in order, mental game in check, work on putting, and mix in some chipping, in that order please, if you're reading this Tiger.

Tiger certainly won't play the Open Championship (could you think of a worse tournament for a guy coming off an injury?), but I have a suspiscion he may show up at the Atlanta Country Club.

Tiger will win more majors (yes, that was intentionally plural).

FWIW, my current prediction (subject to change) is that Tiger will skips the Open Championship and comes back at the Bridgestone. Maybe the PGA, but I think probably the Bridgestone.

If he does play at Firestone he might find himself near bottom of the pile for the second year running. Course is hard, and he'll be way off the pace if it's his first tournament returning from injury. That +18 last year was cringeworthy.

Gotta be hard for him to skip the Open.  Although he's never said it (that I'm aware of) I suspect he wants to win 1 more of those than Watson.

I think Tiger has learned his lesson from the Players; he's not going to enter a major tournament without giving himself another event to prepare and test his leg. He's won at Firestone seven times, so there's no doubting that he's comfortable with the course. If he doesn't play at Firestone, he won't enter either the PGA Championship or the FedEx Cup playoff events. Basically, whether we'll see Tiger again in 2011 (on this hemisphere, at least) depends on whether another six weeks of rest will do any good for his Achilles.
